Stray papers of the Waddingham family, some of which relate to the Hafod estate, Cardiganshire, 1794-1910, including transcriptions, 1794, of notes on lead mines by Lewis Morris; cost and contract books of Bwlchyranos and South Hafod Lead Mines, 1859-1868; printed Cardiganshire election registers, 1862-1865; miscellaneous press cuttings collected by T. J. Waddingham; estate administration records, including agreements to sell timber for shipbuilding from the Hafod Estate by William Chambers, 1857 and papers relating to water supply and railways; return of copies of a crown land survey adjacent to Hafod, 1845; and various printed pamphlets.

Testunau Cymraeg yn llaw W. H. Mounsey, etc.

A composite volume of the period c. 1869-70, almost entirely in the hand of W[illiam] H[enry] Mounsey and containing miscellaneous extracts and fragments of transcripts of literary and historical texts, with copious annotations by the scribe. Among the contents are a collation of the printed text of Y Marchog Crwydrad (Y Brython, 1862, pp. 1-17, 138-52, 257-67, 361-74) with the text of Llanstephan MS 178; 'Iolo Morganwg's opinion of Lewis Morris'; an Irish-English glossary (part of letter A, 4 pp.); 'Prophwydoliaeth y Ddau Fuddugoliaeth a gant Hwch y Maran', with an English translation; 'Stabat Mater', with an English translation; 'englynion', 'cywyddau', etc. from a variety of sources, such as 'Llyfr Hir' and 'Llyfr Du' and manuscripts of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') and David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), 'Llythyr at Dafydd Jones [Trefriw]' from John Pywel, Rhyd Eirin, Llansannan, 1766; etc. The spine is lettered 'Welsh Miscellanea - W. H. Mounsey'.

The Gododdin, &c.

Two volumes of transcripts, [1758], compiled Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), subsequently bound as one volume. Part I (foliated 1-153) contains 'The Gododin an Heroic poem of the sixth Century transcribed from a Copy of Thomas Wiliams of Trefriw M.D., and the Works of Taliessin from Dr Davies of Mallwyd's hand, and other particulars wrote by the Revd Mr. Evan Evans' (f. 1) and includes transcripts of Llyfr Aneirin (ff. 5 verso-36), Llyfr Taliesin (ff. 37-126) and other manuscripts.
Part II (foliated 1-73) contains further poetry, by poets including Llywarch Hen, Iolo Goch, Dafydd ab Edmwnd and Gutun Owain (ff. 1-28, 34 verso-47); notes on Welsh orthography (following the cywydd beginning at f. 19); a list of poets from a manuscript of Dr John Davies (f. 39 verso); a copy of Sir Thomas Wiliems's Preface to his Latin-Welsh Dictionary (ff. 48-64); a letter, dated 26 January 1757, from Lewis Morris to 'Mr. Vaughan of Corsygedol' (ff. 65-69); a letter, dated 14 June 1755, from Richard Morris to the same Mr Vaughan, enclosing a copy of the Transactions of the Society of Cymmrodorion and referring to Lewis Morris and to Goronwy Owen (ff. 70-71); and a table of contents for Part I only, [?in the hand of Owain Myfyr] (f. 72).

There are notes and memoranda on the fly-leaves by Lewis Morris and John Morgan. Inside the lower cover is a bill-head of the Wynnstay Arms Hotel or Eagles Inn, Machynlleth. Mary Richards [presumably of Darowen], whose bookplate appears inside the upper cover of the volume, has subsequently added transcripts of 'awdlau' and 'cywyddau' by Sion Tudur, Lewis Glynn Kothi, Tudu[r] Aled, Iorwerth Fynglwyd, Gruffudd ap Jenkin ap Llywelyn Vychan, [William Llyn] pp. 352-51, Iolo Goch, Raff ab Robert, Henri Humphreys, and Dafydd ap Gwilim.

A manuscript containing 'Ystoriaeu Owen ap Urien [pp. 13-56], y Llong Voel [pp. 57-64], Aristotle ac Alexander [pp. 65-75], a Saith Doethion Rhuvein [pp. 76-145]'; together with Breuddwyd Goronwy Ddu (pp. 146-153); 'Rhyveddodeu Ynys Brydein'(pp. 154-160); etc. The manuscript is in the hand of Ieuan ap Ieuan ap Madog: a note at the end of the volume states 'Ag velly y terfyna hyny o law drysgwl Jeuan ab Jayan ab madog yn y flwyddyn o ddât jessy grist . 1574' (see also Llanstephan MS 178). On pp. i-iv is a title page and table of contents in the hand of Lewis Morris.
