An exercise-book marked on the first page 'Copy No. 16' containing transcripts probably by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of poetry by Evan Pritchard ('Ieuan Lleyn'; 1769-1832), with one or two items by John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'), W[illia]m T[h]omas [?1790-1861] and William Williams. The final item ('Cywydd St. Cowrda' by [Hywel Rheinallt]) has no name appended to it and is incomplete. The poems appear to have been transcribed in separate sections and put together later.

A holograph 'awdl' by Robert Owen Hughes ('Elfyn'; 1858-1919) on the subject 'O! na wyddwn pa le y cawn Efe', which was awarded the prize at the Dyfed Chair Eisteddfod at Newcastle Emlyn, 13 August 1896.

A notebook of William Davies, Froodvale (Ffrwdfâl), bound in brown paper and inscribed 'W. Davies, Ph. D. April 12, 1846'. It contains extracts from expositary notes on scripture and notes of sermons, 1846-9 and undated, preached at Park[-y-rhos], Crug[-y-bar], Esger[dawe] and Rhydybont Congregational churches and at farmhouses called Penrhiwe and Tynypyllau in the Cynwyl Gaeo area, Carmarthenshire; poetry in Welsh and English, 1847 and undated, titles which include: 'To Rev. D[avid] E[vans, rector of] Kilgerran', 'On the Marriage of Rev. M. Jones R[ural] Dean', and 'To Tegid' [i.e. John Jones ('Ioan Tegid')], etc.; a few particulars of 'Pubs', i.e. preaching publications, mainly in Pembrokeshire, June-July 1847; and memoranda of curricula at Brecon [Independent] and Carm[arthen Presbyterian] Colleges 1846, and of book titles, of personal addresses, etc.

A composite manuscript in the hand of D. Silvan Evans containing 'Penillion', numbered 83-93, being a continuation of the series ending on page 111 of Ysten Sioned (Aberystwyth, 1882), and inscribed 'sent off to 89 (inclusive) Dec. 4, 1883' (no. 93 taken from the Oswestry Advertizer, 29 November 1882), together with one additional unnumbered stanza ('The two last line [sic] by D. S. E.'); some Welsh dictionary material, in the form of 'cywydd' couplets and other quotations, illustrating the use of words beginning mainly with the letter C ; and transcripts of free metre poetry by Dafydd o'r Nant and Syr Huw Dafydd ('O Gelli Gaer').

An early nineteenth century manuscript in the hand of, and consisting largely of poetry by, David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'). Most of the poems have been published in Corph y Gaingc (Dolgellau, 1810). The volume also contains extracts from printed works; 'Yr Angel gwarchweidwol. Cân newydd Gorph. 27 1802'; a poem entitled 'My Mother. Written in America and published in the Chester Chronicle June 14 1805'; 'Catechism Byr'; memoranda and extracts dealing with the history of Protestantism (e.g. 'Erthyglau Lambeth', 'Erthyglau Cymmanfa Dort ... 1618', 'Calvin', 'Bacsteriaeth', 'Arminiaeth', etc.); poetry by Gruffudd Wiliam ('Gutyn Peris'), 1807; 'Gweddillion Englynion yr Eos, a luniwyd yn yr Eisteddfod Ynghaerwys 1567 a gopiwyd allan o lyfr y Bardd Côch o Fon Mai 1807'; fragmentary notes and extracts (e.g. 'Y Saith Gelfyddyd (7 Rural Arts)', 'Y Saith Gysgadur', 'Enwau y Gwyr a gyfansoddasant y llyfr a elwir Gweddi Gyffredin Mai B.A. 1549', 'A Critique on the third Book of Paradise Lost', etc.); 'Emyn, allan o'r Saesoneg'; etc. Appended to one of the poems, 'Cwyn yr Henwr methiant', is the following note; 'Sepr. 7th 1805. A miscellany entitled 'Blwch Manion', largely of the period 1855-9, in the hand of Enoch Williams ('Llithrig Arfon'), tailor, Llanrwst. It contains strict- and free-metre poetry by the scribe and others; a copy of part of a letter from the scribe's brother, W. E. Williams, Trenton, New Jersey, to his uncle Richard Jones [Capel Curig], [18]56 (the writer's reminiscences of Capel Curig, the writer's church membership); the scribe's wages accounts and tailoring measurements; memoranda relating to eisteddfodau; an essay on 'Manteision Gwybodaeth'; an extensive collection of Welsh proverbs; etc. The titles of the poems include 'Englyn i Glogwyn yr Ogo. ger Llanrwst', 'Llinellau Ar farwolaeth Miss Margaret Jones, merch Mr R. A volume containing copies (?for publication) of two compositions in strict metres by Evan David ('Ieuan Myfyr Uwch Celli'), Gwernytaraw, Llangrallo, Glamorgan, being an 'awdl' entitled 'Cwymp Goliath Gawr yn yr ornest a fu rhyngddo a Dafydd mab Iesse, wedi hyny, Dafydd Brenin Israel', which was awarded the first prize at Merthyr [Tudful] Eisteddfod, 1825 (printed in Awenyddion Morganwg (Merthyr Tudful [1826]), and 'Marwnad o Goffadwriaeth am y diweddar Fardd Mr William Moses neu Gwilym Tew o Lan Taf, yr hwn a fu farw ar y 30ed o Dachwedd 1824, yn 82 oed', which was adjudged the second best at the same eisteddfod.

A scrap-book compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing poetry in strict and free metres by poets from Caernarfonshire.
