Regiment, Sept. 1939-May 1940, and Scarborough, co. York, with the 125th O.C.T.U., May 1940. The letters include the start of the Second World War, including signing up with Lloyd James the announcer, 1 Sept. 1939. Six letters in envelopes found loose have been added.

Lucky I haven't got to use my Dress allowance on clothes!' (9 July).

Original bundle of letters from Robert Moore, 11 June 1951-1956. The writer only dates the letters, when dated at all, with the day of the week; the only dates are those on postmarks, or Woolley's note of receiving a letter. Also a letter from Woolley to Peter Storrs, that if he die Robert Moore is to have all his possessions 'here', and any credit at Riggs Bank.

Diary entries entitled 'Log of Jamboree, August 1933', describing a visit to London, including "Got to Marble Arch. Anti-War demonstration. Something vast. A. Bevan M.P., Tom Mann, Beverley Nichols, etc. speaking. Colossal procession. Queer speciments of humanity. Bought programme (3d.). Movietone Van in attendance" (30 July); boat crossing Dover-Ostend; train journey to Kőln, Germany, including meeting Arthur Short, assistant commissioner for Wales, "an amazing meeting - 1/3000 chance! Talking to Nazis - ever so nice" (31 July). The journey was probably to the 4th World Scout Jamboree at Gödöllő, Hungary, 2-13 Aug. 1933.

Loose leaf binder containing lists of contents, recipients and receipts for CARE and other food parcels ordered in the USA by Geoffrey Woolley, April-Aug. 1948, a copy of Woolley's will, Nov. 1944, list of bequests, Aug. 1948, diary entries, copies of letters received and sent, accounts, and lists of names [?letters received and to be answered]. The diary entries include Pershing's lying-in-state, 18 July.

Also a letter from Jack Jones of Rhiwbina, discussing his 'The man David' and 'Me and mine', "my publisher thinks it is a better book than my 'Unfinished journey' and he is going to publish it as soon as paper supplies will enable him to", and the state of Welsh theatre, "moribund ... London's dead donkeys follow each other on to the stage", Oct. 1944. Also some other papers, including a report on the occupation of installations NE of Leese [Kampfstoffabrik Leese chemical manufacturing plant], April 1945. This file mostly comprises a bundle originally labelled 'Wartime letters', although it also included some dating to his school and university days.
