'Story Box',

Scripts, 1994-1995, of two stories written and read by Gillian Clarke for 'Story Box', namely 'Dylan and the angel' (1994) and 'The magic word-box' (1995).

Tegwch y bore: translations,

Typescript copies, [1985x1999], of English translations of Tegwch y bore by Kate Roberts. One version by Rhydwen Williams, entitled 'One bright morning', contains manuscript notes by Gillian Clarke. The file also includes another translation by Gillian Clarke entitled 'The glory of the beauty of the morning'.

Tŷ Newydd,

Papers, 1965, 1972, 1988-1991, mostly correspondence, relating to The Taliesin Trust, a charitable trust set up to provide a residential writers' centre for Wales to encourage and promote writing in English and Welsh, and the establishment of the Tŷ Newydd Writing Centre. Included are letters from Sally Baker Jones, Director of the Centre (21, a number of which are copies); Menna Elfyn (2), Meic Stephens (8); Christine Evans (2); Ruth Bidgood; Islwyn Ffowc Elis; Sir Geraint Evans; and Jon Dressel. Also included are agenda and minutes of the Board of Management of The Taliesin Trust, of which Gillian Clarke was Chairman, accounts, lists of donations to the Trust, and related deeds.

Letters, 1975-1997 (with gaps), from Susan Hill; R. S. Thomas (5); Ted Hughes (12, including verses by him); and Seamus Heaney (3). Also included is an offprint of 'Voice of the Tribe' and poems by Gillian Clarke.

The file mainly comprises papers, 1972-1977 and [1979]-1984, pertaining to the Welsh Arts Council, mostly reports by Gillian Clarke of books for the Welsh Arts Council Literature Committee, together with reviews of books for various journals. Included are letters from John Rowlands, Tony Bianchi (2), Nigel Jenkins, and Peter Miles (4). In addition, the file contains manuscript and typescript notes, 1979-1980, which appear to be radio talks; and a report on the fourteenth Yeats International Summer School, 1973.
