RA28 includes a survey, late 1850s-early 1860s of the above collection (giving field names, details of acreages, and annual rent due), together with a plan of part of Plas-y-ward farm sold to the Denbigh, Ruthin & Corwen Railway Co., 1860. Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd and in Ruthin will also be found in R116/3d and R117/2c (being rentals of settled estates in cos Denb. and Mont.), then in the collection entitled Farm and Cottage Rents. Property in Llanfwrog, Llanynys, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd and Llanhychan will not be found in the rentals described below, but in R116/3d and R117/2c, then in the collection entitled Farm and Cottage Rents. The estate of John Mostyn, esq., in cos Mer., and Denb., whereof Mr Francis Chambre is appointed receiver in pursuance of an order of the Court of Chancery, made 6 Feb. 1777, in a cause where Sir Rowland Hill, bart, and Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, bart (on behalf of themselves and the rest of the creditors of the said John Mostyn who should come in and contribute to that suit) are plaintiffs, and John Mostyn and Robert Wynne, esq's, are defendants. R52/4a-e (1788) contains only property in p. Gwyddelwern, co. Mer., in p's Derwen, Gyffylliog, Henllan, Ruthin, Denbigh and Llanrhaeadr [-yng-Nghinmeirch], co. Denb., and p. Hawarden, co. Flint. From R58/2 onwards, the estate of the late John Mostyn, in mortgage to Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, consists of property in p's Gyffylliog, Denbigh and Llanrhaeadr [-yng-Nghinmeirch] only. Llwydiarth estate comprises property in p's Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa (t's Llwydiarth, Fach-wen, Cadwnfa, Garth Uchaf, Cefncleisiog, Rhiwlas, Halfen, Dolwar, Farchwel, Nantycyndy, Llaethbwlch), Llangadfan (t's Cyffin, Bryngwaeddan, Llangadfan, Blowty, Moelfeliarth), Llanfair Caereinion (t's Gwenynog, Llanfair, Pen-tyrch, Dol-ged, Llanloddian Isaf and Uchaf, Rhiwhiriarth, Rhosaflo, Peniarth, Bryn-glas, Brynelen), Llangynyw (t's Cynhinfa, Gwenynog), Llanerfyl (t's Cefn-llys-isaf and Cefn-llys-uchaf, Cnewyll, Craen, Coetalog), Manafon (t. Dwyriw), Llanwyddelan (t. Treganol), Garthbeibio, Llanwddyn, Llanllugan and Welshpool, all in co. Mont. Llanfair Caereinion tithes are included to R70/7 (1815); for Llanfair Caereinion tithes, 1815-1861, see collection entitled Llanfair Caereinion Tithes. Chief rents for p's Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa (t's Rhiwlas, Dolwar, Cadwnfa), Llanwddyn (t. Garthbwlch) and Llansanffraid [?-ym-Mechain], co. Mont., are included from R99 to R116 (1844-1861). Sir Watkin Williams Wynn (d. 1749) acquired the Glan-llyn estate with the Llwydiarth estate. The estate comprised property in p's Llanuwchllyn (t's Penaran, Cynllwyd, Pennant-lliw, Tre Castell), Llanycil (Bala Town, t. Streflyn), Llangywer, Llanfor, Llandderfel and Corwen, all co. Mer. From R26/6 (1741?), property in [p. Llanuwchllyn] (Caergai) is added, and between 1744 and 1748 (R27/9-R29/6) and in 1750 (R30/5) the chief rents of the manor of Pennant-lliw are also included. Collectors: David Morgan, 1626, John Evans, 1701-1706 and 1714-1728, Randle Jones, 1736-1751, and Thomas Jones 1752-1772. After 1772, this collection continues in Collection I.

From 1786 onwards Collection I is divided into three parts: (1i) Rhiwgoch estate; (2ii) Glascoed, Llanforda, Plas-y-ward B (co. Mer.); (2iii) Manor of Valle Crucis (p. Llanfrothen), (2iv) Llanfair collection (p. Mallwyd), (2v) Glan-llyn estate, (2vi) Purchased estate 1768 (p. Llanuwchllyn);. (3Vi) Purchased estate 1768 (p. Llangedwyn), (3vii) Llwydiarth estate, (Llangedwyn collection), (3viii) Llwydiarth estate (Mochnant collection), (3ix) Glascoed, Llanforda, Plas-y-ward B (co. Mont.).

From 1786 onwards, Collection II is divided as follows: A. Manor of Valle Crucis; Stanwardine collection; Wynnstay Home Rents; the 1748 purchased estate; The 1768 purchased estate; and B. Glascoed, Llanforda, Plas-y-ward A (co. Denb.).

Maenan lordship, co. Caern, and properties in p's Eglwys-bach and Llangernyw, co. Denb., are combined from 1683 (L1301) with property in p's Llansanffraid Glan Conwy and Betws Abergele, co. Denb., and p. Penmachno, co. Caern. Property purchased from William Robinson, esq., in p's Llansanffraid Glan Conwy and Llandrillo-yn-Rhos (t. Eirias) is added in 1691 (R8/9). A property in Wrexham is also added from 1684 (L1301) to 1691 (R8/9). R3/5 (1629), R6/7 (1671), R4/7 (1671) and R4/9 (1680) contain property in Commote of Isaf. The Gwydir estate proper did not become part of the Wynnstay estate, but passed to the Dukes of Ancaster through the marriage of Robert, Lord Willoughby of Eresby, duke of Ancaster, and Mary, sole daughter and heiress of Sir Richard Wynn, 4th bart (dec. 1674). However, a rental for 1680 of the Gwydir estate and two rentals for 1671 of Gwydir property in co. Mer. are found amongst the general rentals of the Wynnstay estate. The rentals comprise property in p's [Aber] (t. Y Wig), Betws-y-coed and Llandudno, co. Caern; p's Llanrwst, Llanddoged, Gwytherin, Llanfair Talhaearn, Llaneilian-yn-Rhos, Llansanffraid Glan Conwy, Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch and Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, co. Denb.; p's Llangar, Llandrillo-yn-Edeirnion, Gwyddelwern, Llanfor and Llandderfel, co. Mer.; and p's Isleworth, Heston, co. Mddx. L1311 (1671) contains only property in p's Llandderfel and Llandrillo-yn-Edeirnion, co. Mer. R4/6 (1671) contains only property in p's Llandderfel, Gwyddelwern, Llangar and Llanfor, co. Mer. The estate originally comprised property p's Llanynys (t's Maesmaencymro, Gyffeilliog), Llanfwrog (t. Bodangharad), Ruthin, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd, Bodfari (t. Aberchwiler), Llandyrnog, Llanhychan, Llangwm in commote of Dinmael, the lordship of Llwynydd and Rhisgog, all in co. Denb. In 1697, property in p's Derwen, Llanelidan and Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, co. Denb., and p. Llandrillo-yn-Edeirnion (t's Garthiaen, Branas Isaf), co. Mer., is added. In 1701, property in p's Penmorfa, Beddgelert, Dolwyddelan, Capel Curig, Penmachno, Llanberis, Dwygyfylchi and Llanfairfechan, co. Caern., is also added. Sir William Williams bought the Glantant estate in 1679, and it appears in the Glascoed collection in 1680. The Plas-y-ward estate is combined with the Glascoed collection, 1704-1715 (R12-R13). From 1712 (R13) property in p. Llanynys (t's Trefechan, Ysgeibion) and [p. Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch] (t. Pentrellech) is added. RA8 (1653) contains property in p. Oswestry (t's Trefonnen, Treflach), Shropshire. R4/8 contains an inventory of the goods and chattels of Edward Thelwall of Plasyward, co. Denb., esq., appraised in Jan. 1677. Collector: Matthew Jones, 1689 [1715?].

The collection comprises property in p's Oswestry, Bishop's Castle, Shropshire, Wrexham, Gresford, Ruabon, Holt, Llangollen, Llandysilio-yn-Iâl, Llanarmon-yn-Iâl, Llandegla, Llangedwyn, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog and Llansilin, co. Denb., Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain and Pennant, co. Mont., Bangor Is-coed, co. Flint, and Tilston, Cheshire. The pre-1897 Llangedwyn estate rents (the estate of Lady Williams Wynn) are not contained in separate volumes as below, but, rather, with other estate rentals in the series of Farm and Cottage receiving rentals. After 1911 (RD29), the Llangedwyn rents re-appear in those rentals. Some additional properties are included in the Llangedwyn rentals from 1897 onwards as a result of the transfer of certain properties from the Wynnstay and Ruthin estate to the Llangedwyn estate. Llangedwyn rents will also be found in the series of general rentals (see Farm and cottage rents, 1863-1898). The Llangedwyn rentals are half-yearly, ending either at Lady Day or Michaelmas. Cynllaith Owain chief rents, consisting of property in t's Lloran and Priddbwll [p. Llansilin], co. Denb., are also included from 1898 (RD4). However, since these chief rents were collected yearly, at Michaelmas, they will only be found in the Michaelmas volumes. Details of Cynllaith Owain chief rents before 1898 will be found in the general rentals, and in the series of Tithe, chief and fee farm rentals.
