Reference to the ungentlemanly affair of the curacy of Merthyr. The Mrs Hughes of whom Mrs Llewellyn spoke is not the wife of the Welsh Bookseller. When and how does the addressee mean to publish his poem 'on the Miser'? He has not yet seen the Coelbren. He sent the addressee a little Epigram, a dose (?) for one who has tried to abuse the Druids. Has lately got into correspondence with one half of the Welsh Literati.

He is a subscriber to Llyfr Llandâf and will be so to the addressee's volume (containing EW's researches) and indeed to all. The lukewarmness of which the addressee speaks is really distressing. The 'Coelbren' he has not seen - he has ordered two copies of it but cannot get it. How does the addressee know it was he who put the question to him (TW) respecting Llawdden?

A gentleman who has lived some years in Jamaica and made a fortune, is on his passage for England and is expected in Cardiff the latter end of this month or the beginning of the next, and the writer has paved the way for the addressee to have an interview with him.
