Three holograph letters from [Richard Jones Owen] ('Glaslyn'; 1831-1909), Penrhyndeudraeth, to his grand-daughter Elizabeth] Glaslyn Owen, Llanrwst, 1903-1907 (the teaching of Welsh in Secondary Schools, the recipient's studies, the recipient's marriage, personal); and manuscripts of John Owen ('Ap Glaslyn'; 1857-1934), including a holograph poem, 'Rhiangerdd Gwen o' r Ddol', which was awarded the prize at an eisteddfod at Llandudno, 1887, a scrap-book, 1882-1896 and undated, relating to eisteddfodau and literary and musical festivals, a certificate in elocution, 1885, and a certificate of ordination as Calvinistic Methodist minister, 1919.

Two holograph poems by John Morgan ('Ioan Trithyd'), farmer and poet, of Llantrithyd, afterwards of St. Marychurch, co. Glamorgan. The first is entitled 'Pryddest 'Ar enedigaeth Crist' Sef testun Cyfarfod llenyddol 'Carmel' Tresimwn dydd 'Nadolig' 1867'. The second poem, a satire, lacks the title.

Miscellaneous documents including a statement of account due from the Reverend W[illiam] Griffith, Jesus Coll[ege, Oxford], to D. A. Talboys, in respect of books, 1830; an essay entitled 'Nadolig 1869'; and holographs and transcripts of poetry, among them being 'Englynion ar Briodas Maggi a Iago' by [Rowland Williams] ('Hwfa Môn'), 1882, and 'Ychydig fyfyrdod ar Uniad fy mrawd hoff Mr. James Venmore mewn glan briodas a Miss Hughes, Wylfa, Cemaes, Mon' by [Henry Jones Williams] ('Plenydd').

A volume issued, 1828, to the antiqury Angharad Llwyd, Tyn-y-rhyl, Flintshire, for the collection of subscriptions towards St David's Welsh Church, Liverpool, but utilised by her as a commonplace and autograph book. Verse and prose entries, 1830-1853, mostly of a religious nature, include autograph poetry by John Jones (Tegid), Thomas Price (Carnhuanawc), and Bryan Waller Procter (Barry Cornwall), and entries by Sir John Bernard Bosanquet, Lady Charlotte Guest, Augusta Hall, Lady Llanover, Henry Hart Milman, David Pennant, William Owen[-Pughe], Thomas Raffles, Henry Raikes, John Bird Sumner, and Frances Wrangham. Also included is a letter of address, 1828, to Angharad Llwyd from the Rev. Robert Davies, perpetual curate of St David's Church (f. iii).

A scrap-book compiled by Laura Pughe (née Parry, 'Meillionen Gwynedd', 1835-1936), Helygog, Brithdir, co. Merioneth, containing poetry, 1856-1936, addressed to herself, her husband Robert Pughe (d. 1882), and their family, including poetry by Morris Davies ('Meurig Ebrill'), Howell Elvet Lewis ('Elfed') and John Owen Williams ('Pedrog'), together with press cuttings and other related items.

Notebook of John Rees (1819-1900), Granant, St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire, containing intermittent memoranda in diary form, including entries of Baptist interest, 8 January 1841-23 May 1847, and verse in Welsh. Rees family births, 1813-1836, are listed inside the front cover.

A volume of holograph poetry including 'Englynion y Credo' by 'T[wm] Pedrog', unsigned 'englynion' entitled 'Seh Yootuch. Rebmetpes 25 1798', and 'englynion' entitled 'Yr Ochenaid' by 'Tudwal Bach or Cwmmwd'. The latter series is ascribed to 'Twm Pedrog' in John Jones: Cynfeirdd Lleyn (1905). On the last page of the volume is the following inscription:- 'Thos. Williams' Book 1797. Thomas Williams was born at Llan-bedrog, on Wednes[da]y the 25th Day of May, in the Year of ou[r] Lord 1774. Baptized the 31st of May follow[in]g. Bapt[ize]d Twm Pedrog by Dafydd Ddu o'r Eryri at Penmorfa in an Eisteddfod 26th of May 1795'.

They include englynon by Clwydfardd, e.g. 'Ar ymweliad ei rasusolaf Fawrhydi Tywysog Cymru an gwyl Genedlaethol yn Nghaernarfon Gorphenaf [1894]'; 'Ir diweddar barchedig Edward Anwyl Cadeirydd y Dalaith Ogleddol', etc.; englynion addressed to Clwydfardd by Richard Parry (Gwalchmai) and John Cadvan Davies (Cadvan) (1891); copies of the proclamations of meetings of Gorsedd Beirdd Ynys Prydain at national and provincial eisteddfodau; a letter, [c. 1891], from Clwydfardd to B. Morris Lewis, Chelsea, giving particulars of nineteenth century national and other eisteddfodau; notes on the key to 'Coelbren y Beirdd', etc., by T. H. Thomas (Arlunydd Penygarn); incomplete notes on the Epistle to the Hebrews; and an incomplete eulogy of the writing pen, 1872.

Many of these poems and essays were composed for submission in competitions at local eisteddfodau or literary meetings. Other items include adjudications on 'telynegion' submitted for competition at a literary meeting held at Dyserth, February 1920, and in an essay competition for an essay on 'Taith Israel o'r Aipht hyd Sinai'; a copy of an announcement of a literary and musical meeting to be held at the Calvinistic Methodist chapel, Llysfaen, 2 November 1876; a report on Sunday schools [held in connection with Calvinistic Methodist churches] in the Denbigh district (n.d.); a list of preachers who preached ? in the Calvinistic Methodist chapel, Dyserth, 1917-1922; a list of preaching engagements, ? undertaken by Isaac Jones, 1893-1925, with the texts preached upon; sermon notes; and accounts, 1876-1877,? of the Calvinistic Methodist Church, Colwyn.
