Arrear Book

Memoranda of work to be done on the Bodewryd estate; list of horses with the tasks allotted to them, their ages and other notes; accounts of payments for harvest work; receipts and disbursements; arrears of tenants, 1736-1737.
Two loose items, a list of stock, 1733 and 1735 (ff. 23-24) and a letter from R. Lloyd, Kefn, to [?Dr Wynne] (f. 25), have now been bound into the volume.

Account book

Accounts in the hand of Dr Wynne consisting of heads of accounts of expenditure in various departments of the household, with references to printed works and to other account books.

Reaping accounts, inventories

Register of reaping services due and performed, 1740-1741 (ff. 2 verso-9); inventories of goods, furniture, instruments of husbandry, etc., at Bodewrid houses and out houses, 1741-1742 (ff. 10-15 verso), including a list of horses, 1741 (ff. 12 verso-13); list of purchases made mainly at Chester, 1742-1746 (ff. 16-21 verso); inventories of cart gears, etc., 1749-1750 (ff. 22-23).

Bodewryd ledger

Accounts of expenditure on the Bodewryd estate with full particulars of payments made for skilled and unskilled labour, 1745-1754 (ff. 6 verso-93 verso); miscellaneous memoranda by Dr Edward Wynne with remarks and maxims on agricultural economy; quotations from manuals of husbandry and miscellaneous notes. The volume is almost entirely in the autograph of Dr Wynne, with some entries by his steward, Hugh Hughes.
A few loose bills and other items, 1750-1753, have been tipped in on, mostly new, leaves (ff. 95-103).

Accounts, &c.

Farm, household and other accounts of Dr Wynne for 1750-1751, with memoranda and notes of books. This seems to be a jotter from which Dr Wynne would enter the accounts into his ledger.
A bill for 1812 is also included (ff. 39-40).

Bodewryd Notitia

Notes of accounts and references to the ledger book; a terrier of Bodewryd in 1730, extracts from agricultural books, with remarks on the use of lime and sand, etc., on Bodewryd lands. Autograph of Dr Wynne and another.

A System of Oeconomy

Extracts from books on husbandry and remarks made by Dr Wynne, on such subjects as the agistment of cattle, tillage, seeds - turnip and corn, agricultural book-keeping, weights and measures, etc. The volume is in the autograph of Dr Edward Wynne and Hugh Hughes.

Miscellaneous papers, many in the autograph of Edward Wynne, including: notes on British and Anglesey history; an account of the rectories, vicarages, etc., in Anglesey, recording dedications, patrons, feast days, wakes and the Latin equivalent of their names; notes on documents relating to Llandyfrydog and Llanallgo; extracts from an extent of Anglesey made in 1352; miscellaneous notes, letters, pedigrees; a brief authorizing collections in aid of the widows and orphans of sailors lost in the great storm of 26 and 27 November 1703, endorsed with a statement of the collection made at Cleobury Mortimer, 8 October 1704 (ff. 101-102); assessments of some Anglesey parishes made about 1665; account of a debate in the House of Lords on the Bill for strengthening the Protestant interest, 18 December 1718; a copy of an act for the encouragement of building parsonage and vicarage houses within the dioceses of St Asaph and Bangor (ff. 110-111); a short historical account of the Civil Law, etc. (ff. 114-121); and a few letters, 1670, 1721-1722 (ff. 30, 93, 99, 139).

Genealogies

A fragment of a manuscript giving pedigrees of Anglesey, Caernarvonshire, Denbighshire, Merioneth and March families. The manuscript can be compared with Sotheby MS C3 for arrangement, the maternal bias, and the size of the leaves.

Miscellaneous papers

Miscellaneous papers consisting of drafts, sermons, copies of poems in English and Latin, Latin letters, college papers, orations, etc. The following may be specially noted: a copy of a certificate (1710) by Dr Edward Wynn that William Owen was the grandson of Sir John Owen of Clenneney (ff. 14-15); a letter from Wi[lliam] Baxter to 'Mr Edward Lhuyd, Keeper of the Museum att Oxford', 9 October 1708 (ff. 12-13); an epistle in Latin verse from Will Lloyd to Edward Wynne (ff. 10-11); two Latin letters from William Williams at St Donat's Castle to Mr Edward Wynn, A.M., Fellow of Jesus in Oxfordshire, 1706 (ff. 5-8); a copy of the beginning of the will of Dr Ralph Bathurst (f. 4), with a draft based upon it of the beginning of Dr Edward Wynne's will in Latin (f. 3); and a fragment of a personal account book, 1720-1723 (ff. 73-82).

Wynne family papers, poetry, &c.

A small group of autograph Welsh poems, mostly relating to the Wynne family, consisting of: (i) anonymous verses entitled 'Penillion cufaddas i'r amser yma ...', beginning 'Pob haden lawen lonudd su ai miwsig hud meusudd ...' (f. 1); (ii) 'Cywydd Marw-nad er coffadwriaeth am Farwolaeth Gwraig foneddigaeth sef Mrs Wyn o Fodewryd yr hon a hunodd yn yr Arglwydd y 31 o fis Awst 1723', by Robert ap Richard (ff. 2-3); (iii) 'Cowydd priodas Mr Chansaler Wyn a chroeso ir wlad', by William Morgan Lloyd, [1714] (ff. 4-5); (iv) 'Cywydd Marwnad y gwir Barchedig Dad yn Nuw Humphreu Humphres Arglwydd Esgob Henffordd', by Owen Gruffydd, [1712] (ff. 6-7); (v) a translation into Welsh of 'Of Noble Race was Shenkin' and Latin verse mainly in the autograph of Chancellor Wynne (ff. 8-9); (vi) a poem 'I'r haeddol Barchedig Mdm Margaret Humphreys', by David Manuel (f. 10); and (vii) 'Cerdd i Annerch, ynghyd a mawl ddyledus i Mr Edward Owens, o Benrhos, ar dôn a elwir Marwnad yr Helwyr', by Richard Parry (f. 11).
