Chair of Music,

Letters, 1946-1967, comprising official letters and letters of congratulations relating to his career at University College, Cardiff, culminating in his promotion to the Chair of Music, 1967. Some examination papers of the Department of Music, 1959-1962, are included, together with a few college prospectuses, 1952-1963.

Cheltenham Festival,

Letters, 1954-1994, relating to commissions and performances of works at the Cheltenham Festival, including the first public performance of the Clarinet Concerto (Opus 3), 1954.

Correspondence, 1950-2008, mainly relating to the commissioning of new works, performances and invitations to conduct, adjudicate and give lectures. They include one general group and fourteen specific groups of correspndence with radio and televison companies, the Welsh Arts Council, the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Welsh National Opera, the National Eisteddfod, orchestras, festivals, record companies and publishers, and correspondence relating to music competitions.
