A collection of 'cywyddau' attributed to Dafydd ap Gwilym (17), Dafydd Nanmor (2), Hugh Morys, Madog Benfras, Iolo Goch, and Rhys Cain; 'cerddi' by Ellis Roberts Cowper, and Lewis Morris ('Llywelyn Ddu') ('Llythur Cymun Morgan Goch y Melinydd', with an addition by William Jones, and 'Cerdd Marwnad Llewelyn bach o Gaer ludd'); 'englynion' by Merddyn Emrys and Huw Huws; and an English 'charol to be sung on Christmas morning' by Hugh Hughes, 'late of Foel near Llanerchymedd'.

A manuscript mainly containing cywyddau of Dafydd ap Gwilym (pp. 1-240). Pp. i-xviii are in the autograph of Moses Williams (1685-1742) and the remainder of the text in that of his brother Samuel Williams. P. i is headed 'Welsh names of Men & Women' and p. xviii is headed 'Librorum MSS. Catalogus'. Pp. 241-250 contain a table of contents.
The one hundred and sixty three poems contained in the text have been numbered by Moses Williams's friend William Jones (1675-1749), who once owned the Shirburn collection of manuscripts.

The file comprises letters to and from J. L. C. Cecil-Williams (Honourary Secretary of the Society) relating to the erection of a memorial plaque to Dafydd ap Gwilym at Strata Florida Abbey, and the unveiling ceremony, 7 July 1951.

A roughly-bound composite volume of notebooks in the hand of J. H. Davies containing extracts and transcripts from seventeenth and eighteenth century public records relating mainly to Cardiganshire and taken especially from Gaol Files, 1732-69 (among them 'Quotations sent to Welsh Gazette' with captions in the hand of George Eyre Evans); and copious extracts and transcripts of seventeenth century Welsh Puritan and Quaker interest, including material from Merioneth Gaol Files, temp. Charles II, notes and extracts on 'Personalia' (with similar material relating to Dafydd ap Gwilym etc.); an extensive list of titles of, with extracts from, printed books and Acts of Parliament, a list of Members of Parliament for Welsh constituencies, 1640-60 (Cardiganshire from 1624), transcripts from Thomas Shankland, '"Diwygwyr Cymru" Beriah Gwynfe Evans', Seren Gomer 1901, passim, etc. There is a classified index at the end of the volume.

A manuscript containing works of Dafydd ap Gwilym 'yr Ofydd Cymreig. A gasclwyd allan o amryw Lyfrau gan Richd. Thomas A.B. e Coll. Jes. Oxon. 1778'. The collection contains eighty-one pieces.

A volume in the hand of D. Silvan Evans containing 'awdlau' and 'cywyddau' by Wiliam Lleyn. The transcripts were made c. 1869 and appear to be taken from more than one source, e.g. a manuscript of Paul Panton, 1779, and a manuscript of W. H. Mounsey based on a manuscript in the hand of [Owen Jones] 'Owen Myfyr'. At the end are 'Tri o'r Chwe Englyn a ddywedir i Ddafydd ab Gwilym wneuthur ar ei Glaf-wely' transcribed by D. Silvan Evans from a manuscript in the hand of ?D[avid] Ellis [Cricieth]. Beginning at the end are three pages of notes on 'Matter'.

A collection of awdlau and cywyddau, including a substantial section of poems ascribed to Guto'r Glyn (pp. 151-300) and Dafydd ap Gwilym (pp. 355-379). The manuscript also includes a copy of Chaucer's Treatise on the Astrolabe (pp. 87-100). Gwenogryn Evans states that pp. 1-22, 335-406 and 410-33 are written in an archaic style in the early part of the seventeenth century, while pp. 23-85, 101-33 and 151-303 belong to the last quarter of the sixteenth century. Other parts of the manuscript are later additions, except the vellum leaf (pp. 305-6).

Two 18th century manuscripts, comprising 'Tlysau'r Beirdd wedi ei gasglu ... [gan] Benjamin Simon, Bardd o Aber Gwili ... MDCCLI' and 'Llyfr Dafydd ab Gwilim, Bardd o Lanbadarn Fawr Yngharedigion, a ysgrifenwyd ... gan Benjamin Simon Bardd a Henefydd ... MDCCLIV'. The manuscripts were fully catalogued for the Historical Manuscripts Commission by J. Gwenogvryn Evans when they were in the possession of D. P. Davies, Ynyslwyd, Aberdare (see below).
