The material includes a draft autobiography of Robert Ellis; an introduction written for a collection of Ellis's work under the proposed title Mwyar Berwyn; a draft of part of the first chapter of a biography of John Williams, Baptist minister (Llangollen, 1871); notes for Esboniad ar y Testament Newydd Cyfrol III (Llangollenn, 1878); poetry; diaries, 1840-1866; correspondence, 1833-1875; sermons; lectures; essays; adjudications at eisteddfodau, [1860x1875]; and miscellaneous notes, transcripts and extracts. The collection also includes letters, 1835-1856, of John Williams, Baptist minister; a rental, 1725-1726, of the estate of Watkin Williams Wynn; commonplace books of John Davies, Pentrefoelas, Griffith Williams (Gutyn Peris) and others, together with further collections of miscellany in seventeenth and eighteenth century hands; and autograph sermons by Christmas Evans.

A folding case formerly housing a letter, 29 May 1813, from the Rev. Thomas Charles, Bala, to Joseph T. Price, Neath Abbey (now NLW MS 24045F, f. 38). Affixed to the case is a paper label attesting to the loan of the letter to the Ecclesiastical Art Exhibition held during the Church Congress at Swansea in October 1909.

The Christian Lady's Pocket Book for 1798 belonging to the Rev. David Jones of Llan-gan, Glamorgan, and Manorowen, Pembrokeshire, the prominent Methodist preacher, containing brief diary entries noting day-to-day activities, preaching engagements and tours (pp. 14-118, versos only) with additional material occasionally added on facing pages.
Two short prayers in Welsh are on pp. 111, 113. Additional memoranda, in pencil and ink, 1817-1831, appear to be in the hand of his grandson, the Rev. Lewellin Lewellin (pp. i, iii, vi, 146 and inside the covers). The volume also incorporates printed poetry, prose, tables and other information (pp. 1-12, 121-144). A few extracts from the diary, translated into Welsh, were published in 'Lloffion ar ol yr Hybarch David Jones, Llangan', Y Drysorfa, 70 (1900), 129-131 (pp. 129-130).
