Design for Lazing

Joy Thomas' head in profile asleep on a sandy beach. Sandcastles have been placed each side of her head and a semi circle of shells above her. A small crab had been placed in the centre of the semicircle.

[Farm]

A small farm photographed from a nearby hillside. The farmhouse has a distinctive window arrangement with one central window at first floor level above the door and two windows in the gable end. Behind the farm is a small copse.

[Farm buildings]

Photograph of a watercolour painting of farm buildings. The centre of the picture is dominated by a clapboard structure with a hipped pitched roof, open on all four sides to a height of twelve feet or so, possibly a winnowing barn.

Four contact prints from 6 x 6 cm negatives. Two are of a farmhouseandone of a thatched cottage. The fourth (bottom right) has been identified as possibly The Kings Head, Llangennith.

[Fence & Trees]

A pastoral landscape dominated by two features - a stand of trees on the near horizon and a wooden fence running from the right foreground to left of centre. The fence leads the eye into the picture and towards the trees.
