Australian Air Race,

Correspondence, June 1933-May 1934, relating to Lord Davies's proposed sponsorship of Squadron Leader Cedric Hill in the London-Melbourne air race during the summer of 1934. Much of the correspondence discusses the selection of the most suitable type of machine for the race. Ultimately it was resolved not to engage in the sponsorship on grounds of cost, and Hill consequently decided to withdraw from the race.
