A miscellaneous gathering of papers, some of which have been endorsed by Bishop Humphreys: (a) papers relating to Denbighshire, including extracts from the Survey of 1334 (ff. 3-7); (b) copies of papers relating to the petition (1619) of Thomas Canon, Surveyor of Crown lands in South Wales, concerning the supplanting of the mountain thieves of Wales, and disposing habitations in convenient places (see Calendar of State Papers. Domestic 1619-1623, p. 55) (ff. 8-9); (c) copy of a list of the inhabitants of Anglesey who were amerced for being in arms and rebellion with Owen Glyndyfrdwy, 1406, with a table of the fines, copies of the jury panels, and a list of outlaws (a portion, the lists for the commote of Llivon from a fragment found among Edward Lhuyd's papers, was published in Archaeologia Cambrensis, 3rd ser., 5 (1859), pp. 177-180; Browne Willis, in A Survey of the Cathedral Church of Bangor... (London, 1721), pp. 84-85, quotes from a copy of this record, which he saw in the collection of the then Dean of Bangor) (ff. 61-90); (d) a seventeenth century Welsh calendar (ff. 10-16); (e) 'Catalogus Alphabeticus s[anc]torum Cambrobritannicae', by Bishop Humphreys (ff. 17-22); (f) copies of papers on British Chronology sent by Robert Vaughan of Hengwrt to Archbishop [James] Us[s]her (c.f. Welsh and English poetry

A seventeenth-century manuscript in several hands, containing englynion, cywyddau, carolau, dyriau and other poems in free metre in Welsh and English. The following are some of the poets represented: Tudur Aled, Sion Tuder, Gytto'r Glyn, John Brwynog, Thomas Powel, Robert ap Hugh Delyniawr, Rowland Vaughan, Hugh and John Kenricke, Syr Hugh David o Sir Henford, Syr Hugh Roberts, Robin Ddu and Ficker Llan ddyfri. Among the poems in free are 'Ymddiddanen rhwng Mr. John Gruffyth a Richard Boulkley' (ff. 45-46 verso), a second poem on a similar theme (ff. 19 verso-20), published as 'Ymddiddan rhwng Mr. John Griffith, Llanddyfnan, a'i ewythr Mr. Bwlclai, yn 1647' in Hen Gerddi Gwleidyddol 1588-1660, Cymdeithas Llen Cymru 2 (Cardiff, 1901), pp. 16-18; and a copy of 'Karol y wraig o ganan' (ff. 80-81 verso) which differs slightly from that published in Casgliad o Hanes-Gerddi Cymraeg, Cymdeithas Llen Cymru 4 (Cardiff, 1903), pp. 11-15.

Warrant from Bulkeley, Pierce Lloyd, junior, and Wm. Bold, deputy lieutenants of Anglesey, to Arthur Bulkeley, William Roberts, Richard Bulkeley, Wm. Roberts, Llanvoorog, and Rodericke Davies, gentlemen, for the collecting of £21. 18s. 6d. assessed upon the hundred of Tallybolion, under the 'Act for the ordering of the forces in the several counties of this Kingdom'.

Warrant re. provisioning and payment for the militia in Talabolion

Warrant from Bulkeley, Jo: Robinson and William Bold, to Arthur Bulkeley of Clygyrog, Richard Bulkeley of Dronwy, Owen Owens of Llanrhyddlad, Richard Kerver of Rhospeirio, and Roderick Davies of Bodronin, gentlemen, for the assessment of £11. 2s. 3d. upon the hundred of Talabolion for the provision of ammunition and for the payment of inferior officers of the militia.

  2. The High Constables of peace of the commote of Tallabolion.
    Warrant for the appointment of 'sessors' to assess the sums appointed in the commote of Tallabolion for the relief of hurt and maimed soldiers, in co. Anglesey.

A copy of the first issue of Trysorfa Gwybodaeth, neu Eurgrawn Cymraeg, [?3 March] 1770, each of the four sections separately paginated [1]-8 (ff. 2-5, 10-13, 18-21, 26-29), and copies of the first three sections (the news sheet is missing) from the sixth issue, [?12 May] 1770, each paginated 41-48 (ff. 6-9, 14-17, 22-25).
Also included is a sheet, March 1770, advertising the publication of the fourteenth part of Bibl Cymraeg; Gyd a Sylwiadau ac Esponiadau ar bob Pennod, ed. by Peter Williams (1770, see Libri Walliae 369-372) (f. 1).
