Accounts and poetry

A seventeenth-century merchant's account-book for miscellaneous groceries and draperies supplied to persons mainly in Denbighshire, 1662-1687 (pp. 1-76). The remainder of the volume contains copies of Welsh poems in strict and free metres, a copy of Areth Wgon, and a few recipes (pp. 77-190, 193-194). The majority of the poems are in free metres, and among a large number of authors who are represented the following have several poems to their names: Robert Klidro and Sion Prys Caerddynen. A table of contents is on pp. 173-174.

Notes on ecclesiastical law, with notes and short biographies of Latin and English writers to the beginning of the eighteenth century. Some notes by [?Dr Wynne], but mostly copied by another.

Notes by Dr Wynne and a scribe on the law governing testaments, guardianship, matrimony and defamation; historical account of decrees in cases of Tithes made in the Exchequer Court, 1660-1713.

New folios have been inserted in some of the lacunae by Chancellor Wynne (pp. 111-112, 117-118, 123-134, 137-140, 149-152, 253-256), some of which have notes in his hand (pp. 117-118, 123-126, 128-134, 137-140, 150, 152).

A composite volume (previously also including Bodewryd MS 47iiD) containing:
(a) Examples of ecclesiastical instruments taken out of the records of the diocese of Bangor between 1634 and 1640 (ff. 1-93);
(b) An index to a collection of precedents in the hand of Dr Edward Wynne (ff. 95-99), followed by twenty-one pages of the projected collection (ff. 100-110);
(c) An inventory of plate and household goods at Bodewryd, 14 July 1755, and related lists, dated 1757 (ff. 111-123);
(d) A few more precedents begun by Dr Wynne and continued by a scribe (ff. 124-133 verso).

Precedents in ecclesiastical law

A collection of precedents in ecclesiastical law made towards the end of the sixteenth century; the examples are mostly dated around 1595 and several relate to the diocese of Bangor (ff. 1-143).
The collection is preceded by an index in the original hand (ff. i-ii) and followed by index by Dr Edward Wynne (ff. 144-147), both evidently compiled while the volume was complete.

Accounts

A composite volume consisting of two manuscripts (ff. 1-26 and ff. 28-44), containing accounts of Roger Lloyd, 1556-1566, including statements of payments made in respect of his niece Jane Lloyd, and of his [?nephew] Thomas Yale (clothing and school fees); Llandorog charges, including priest's wages; payments made to his sister Elen; references to his brothers Hugh Yeal and Dr Yeal; receipts for the farm of Llantrissaint for the use of his brother Dr Yale, parson there; etc.
Thomas Yale, LL.D, was rector of Llantrisant, Anglesey, from 1556 to his death in 1577. He became Chancellor of Bangor in 1562, and was Dean of the Arches from 1567 to 1573. See also 'Owdl foliant Doctor Tho. Ial' by William Cynwal in Mostyn MS 145, p. 119.

Accounts

The entries opposite the names of persons are in respect of 'lambes woole fle' lac' ', and they may represent tithe accounts for Chwythrinie, Maes yr ychen, Bodanwydog, Koydrwg, etc., between 1603 and 1618.

Rent rolls of the estates of [Owen] Bold, [of Tre'rddol, Llechcynfarwy], in Anglesey, 1662-1663; accounts of the receipts of rents and presents, allowances, etc., between 1665 and 1681.

Audit acquittances

Thirty-one audit acquittances relating to escheat rents of Bodewryd between 1714 and 1751 (ff. 1-16), together with one receipt for composition for five heads for the duty on malt and candles, 1753 (f. 16).
