Rhan oTredegar Estate Records,
Volume containing plans of properties, with reference tables giving the names of the tenants, the state of the holdings (mainly arable, meadow, pasture or a combination) and the acreage of the holding. The maps number the individual fields within each holding and give their individual acreages, but the fields are not named. The index is to holdings in Basaleg, Betws, Caldicot, Christchurch, Henllys, Ifton, Llandevenny, Llanfihangel, Llanfihangel Pont-y-moel, Llanhenwg, Llan-soe, Llantarnam, Magor, Malpas, Matharn, Nash, Newchurch, Redwick, Risca, Roggiet, St Brides, St Woolloos, Shirenewton, Undy and Whitson, all in Monmouthshire. Most maps have a reference to a page in the "Great Book" in red ink, and later pencilled notes. -- Several of the maps are dated, including the map of Tredegar Park, surveyed by John Williams in 1792 (p. 6), Twmbools in the parish of Basaleg, surveyed by John Williams in 1797 (between pp. 52-53), and the sketch of Clypper Park is endorsed "as divided into fields by Jno Williams, 1799" (opposite p. 11).
