The file also contains a list of publications and review titles (1981-1990), in the hand of Greg Hill; a programme for the production of ‘Branwen’ at Theatr Clwyd ([1989]), with a contract for a review of the performance for BBC Radio 4, and notes (1989); and a cutting from the Cambrian News (2000), including a letter from Greg Hill.

Tŷ Newydd,

Papers, 1965, 1972, 1988-1991, mostly correspondence, relating to The Taliesin Trust, a charitable trust set up to provide a residential writers' centre for Wales to encourage and promote writing in English and Welsh, and the establishment of the Tŷ Newydd Writing Centre. Included are letters from Sally Baker Jones, Director of the Centre (21, a number of which are copies); Menna Elfyn (2), Meic Stephens (8); Christine Evans (2); Ruth Bidgood; Islwyn Ffowc Elis; Sir Geraint Evans; and Jon Dressel. Also included are agenda and minutes of the Board of Management of The Taliesin Trust, of which Gillian Clarke was Chairman, accounts, lists of donations to the Trust, and related deeds.

Correspondence relating to closure of the Anglo-Welsh Review

Correspondence, 1981-2000, mainly relating to reviews and articles intended for publication in the Anglo-Welsh Review, and to the Welsh Arts Council’s withdrawal of funding in 1987 and subsequent closure of the publication in 1988. The file comprises correspondence, 1964-1971, including draft letters by Glyn Jones, relating to The Dragon Has Two Tongues (London, 1968), mostly from the literary agents, Laurence Pollinger Ltd, and publishers, J. M. Dent & Sons Ltd, and includes letters from Brynmor Jones (4), Gerald Morgan, Gwyn Thomas, Maxwell Fraser, Gwyn Jones (2), Keidrych Rhys, D. Gwenallt Jones, Roland Mathias (4), Meic Stephens, Richard Morris Jones, Alun R. Jones, editor Mabon (copy), Ron Berry, A. G. Prys-Jones (2), W. C. Elvet Thomas, Bryn Griffiths and Elwyn Davies. A number of letters concern permission to quote from the works of writers featured in the book and the Welsh Arts Council prize awarded to Glyn Jones for the work; some letters contain references to The Island of Apples. -- Also included are royalty statements and other related papers including manuscript drafts of sections of the essay on Dylan Thomas, and a hand-painted design by Glyn Jones for the dust jacket. In addition, the file contains a programme of the Theatr Clwyd Company production 'My People', 1980, based on Caradoc Evans's short stories, which includes an extract from The dragon has two tongues; and printed notes regarding the television series 'The dragon has two tongues', 1985.

Poems '76

The file comprises papers, [1975]-1976, relating to Poems '76, ed. Glyn Jones (Llandysul, 1976). The poems included in the anthology appeared between 1974 and 1976, though it seems they were composed, and some published, before this period. Glyn Jones was an editorial consultant to the work, and recommended Anglo-Welsh poets for inclusion in the volume, as well as contributing articles on Leslie Norris and R. S.
