Letter from Edward Wiliams, Flimston, concerning the land at Rumney,

A letter from Edward Wiliams, Flimston, to [ ] [a woman]. He has found a purchaser for the land at Rumney, namely Mr James Jones of Lanrumney, a very able farmer. The sender, who has been the minister of a congregation of Baptists at Pen y Fai for about 25 years, was with his friends shut out of the Annual Meeting of the Southeastern District of Wales held at Hengoed in the summer of 1812 (for his Unitarian ideas). He entered and registered his own dwelling according to law, and in this the greater number of the congregation who still adhere to him meet for worship, but his room is too confined and otherwise inconvenient. They have therefore agreed for a spot of ground whereon to build a meeting [-house]: presuming no further than thus to state their case and circumstance to the addressee and to such of his friends as he may be pleased or think proper to show this (to).
