An exercise book, [1808x1818] (watermark 1808), containing arithmetical problems and exercises.
The volume appears to be associated with the school run by Mr John White at Carmarthen, between 1804 and 1818.

A volume containing arithmetical exercises, form letters and stories, compiled by John Lloyd (b. 1808) of Pant, parish of Llanegryn, co. Merioneth, 1824-1825, whilst a pupil at Mr Harling's Commercial School, Chester; family memoranda, including copy letters from John Lloyd's father, David Lloyd, have been added, [1820s]-1847 (ff. 344v-345, 378v-380).

A volume, dated 1835, which was originally intended as as arithmetic exercise book for T[homas] Cynddelw Richards and was subsequently used by Mary Richards to record a list of bards, etc. who were licenced ('a gafodd Drwydd[ed]') at a Welshpool eisteddfod [?1824] and transcripts of 'cywyddau', 'englynion', etc. by Moris Evan ap Eingan [i..e. Morys Dwyfech], Gruffudd Kenrick Coch, William Llyn, Iorwerth Fynglwyd, Ifan Dyfu, Edmund Prys ('Mr o Gylfyddyd'), Ywain Waeta, Howel Kilain, Howel ap Llywelyn Ymael [recte ap y Moel], Dafydd ap Edmund, Gruffudd ap Evan ap Llywelyn Vychan, Dafydd ap Gwilim, Gruffudd ap Gronw Gethin, Tudur Aled, Cuttun [sic] Owain, Gruffudd Llwyd ap Dafydd, Richard Gruffudd ap Huw, Gutto'r Glyn, Sion Tudur, Bedo Brwy[n]llys, Rhys Nant Mor, Sir Dafydd Owain, Wiliam Philip and 'Taliesin' [?1864], and anonymous poems. An arithmetic exercise book of David Davies [?of Llain, Ffostrasol, Cardiganshire], 1846; together with a notebook containing particulars of the measurements and acreages of fields on farms [in the parish of Llandyfriog, etc.], 1837; the residuary account, for purposes of legacy and residue duties, of the late David Davies of Blaenavon, parish of Troedyraur, Cardiganshire, farmer (died 25 December, 1852), signed by his son and executor Dan David Davies of Ffosybaily, parish of Troedyraur, farmer, 1853; and a receipt, 1878, to Daniel Davies for a half year's rent of £5 17s. due to Christopher Rice Mansel Talbot, esq., in respect of properties in Reynoldston, Glamorgan.

The volume was originally (1902) used as a mathematics exericse book.

A volume, 1809-1810, written by Joseph Meredith of the town of Carmarthen containing mainly arithmetical exercises, verses, and other memoranda including an account of the collection of money made among the workers at the Tinworks, Carmarthen, on behalf of the widow of a deceased forgeman, together with a copy of her petition, 1809 (ff. 79v-80v); inserted in the volume are two printed accounts, State of the Sunday Schools, near the Parade, Carmarthen ..., 1809 and 1810, with lists of the subscribers (ff. 77-8v).
