Miscellaneous papers containing notes, transcripts, extracts, copies of his own poems, etc., by Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') bound together in one volume and paginated 1-390. The contents include notes on the perpetual calendar carved on wood known as 'The Staffordshire Clogg' (p. 13); notes on the special alphabet usually inscribed on wooden surfaces which, according to Edward Williams, was used by Welsh bards (pp. 15-25); notes on the method of inscribing the said bardic alphabet headed 'Llyma ddangos y modd y gwneir Coelbren y Beirdd' (p. 29; see John Williams: Barddas . . ., vol. I, pp. 142-51); notes, often in the form of questions and answers, on Welsh bardic lore relating to the origin of letters ('Pa fodd y cafad Gwybodaeth gyntaf ar lythyr' (p. 36), 'Pwy a wnaeth Lythyr gyntaf' (p. 41), 'Pwy gyntaf a gafas ddeall ar lythyr' (p. 91)), the origin of life ('O beth y Gwnaeth Duw'r byd a bywydolion' (pp. 77-8)), etc. (for much of this material see various sections of John Williams: Barddas, vol. The contents of pp. 289-342 and 347-82 consist almost entirely of transcripts of Welsh strict-metre poems in the form of 'cywyddau' and 'englynion'. Many of these bear one of the various bardic names adopted by Edward Williams at various times ('Iorwerth Morganwg', 'Iorwerth Gwilym neu brydydd bychan Morganwg', 'Iolo Morganwg') and all may possibly be his compositions.

A proof copy of the Rev[erend] Thomas Rowland: A Grammar of the Welsh Language . . . (2nd ed., London, 1857). The inside, upper cover is inscribed 'The proof sheets. Presented by the author to the Rev. D. Ll. James [David Lloyd James, vicar of Pontrobert], Oct. 20th 1865', and on the fly-leaf is a parody by 'Brutus of Haul fame' [David Owen, editor of Yr Haul] of the seven-line hymn stanza [by Evan Jenkins of Llansamlet, commencing 'Duwioldeb yn ei grym'].

A volume entitled 'Cyfrol III. Nodion Cyffredinol', covering the period May 1925-April 1926. The entries relate to domestic and international politics, the writer's removal to Chester, the writer's donation of nearly one thousand books to Llanelly Public Library, the death of the Rev. J. Towyn Jones, M.P., and of Arthur Mee, Welsh place-names, Welsh grammar, the works of Xenophon and Aristotle, numerals used by Cumberland shepherds, etc. Also included in the volume are lists of dialect words from the Llanelly district and of Welsh land measurements.

A volume entitled 'Hen Gymeriadau', written circa 1890 and containing reminiscences of residents of Dafen and especially of early members of Maescanner Baptist Church. There are also reminiscences of John Rhys Morgan, 'Lleurwg', minister of Zion Baptist Church, Llanelly. The volume contains two pages of notes on Welsh grammar, and may have been originally intended for that purpose.

A manuscript in the hand of David Richards ('Dewi Silin') containing transcripts of John Davies: A Display of Herauldry (Salop, 1716); 'cywyddau' and 'englynion' by Hugh Morys; 'Edeyrn Dafawd aur' (see Cwrtmawr MS 233); 'cywyddau' by Ieuan ab Hywel Swrdwal and Gruffudd ab Ieuan ab Llywelyn, and 'Chwedl Rhitta Gawr' from a transcript by Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') of a manuscript of James Davies ('Iaco ap Dewi'); a 'Letter from Mr Owen [William Owen-Pughe], Author of the Welsh and English Dictionary, containing Remarks on the Structure of the Welsh Language, and on the Characteristic of the Gwentian Dialect ...', printed in William Coxe: An Historical Tour in Monmouthshire, part II (London, 1801), pp. 405-7; and 'cywyddau', an 'awdl' and 'englynion' by Hugh Morys, Jno. Davies ('o'r Rhiwlas'), William Miltwn, Doctor Sion Kent, Simwnt Fychan, Richart Phylip, Sion Philip and Sion Cain, and incomplete poems. Pasted on the inside lower cover is an imperfect printed prospectus of Seren Gomer, 1813.
