The original manuscript of 'Madoc: An Essay on the Discovery of Amercia by Madoc ap Owen Gwynedd in the Twelfth Century', submitted for competition at the Llangollen eisteddfod, 1858, but not awarded the prize because, although adjudged the best essay in the competition, it did not support the belief that America had been discovered by Madog.
