A manuscript containing poetry of Bedo Brwynllys, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Guto'r Glyn, Huw Cae Llwyd and others (pp. 1-136, 149-159); a vocabulary (pp. 137-149); Dafydd Ddu [Hiraddug]'s Grammar (pp. 161-198); the statutes of Gruffydd ap Cynan (pp. 199-206 (at the end of this extract is the note 'Dyma y maint a gebhais o'r Statut yn lhybhyr Meistr Sion ap Edward gam o drebh newydd, o blwybh Dewi yn Sir bhracheiniog . 1579 .'); a translation into Welsh of Genesis I (pp. 230-245); Biblical extracts and history (pp. 246-264) (a note on p. 252 records that the Biblical extracts were taken 'o lybhyr Mr Edmond Morgan o Bhedwelhty'); &c. All but pp. 256-259, 265-268 and part of p. 198 are in the autograph of the grammarian Dr John David Rhys (1534-1609); his peculiar orthography begins on p. 13, l. 21. The poetical extracts vary in length from three to fifty lines. The lines selected are not always consecutive; they are even occasionally fragmentary, and many words are explained or glossed. The awdl on p. 256 is in a different but contemporary hand from that of Dr John David Rhys. For p. 265, cf. the text on pp. 22-24, which agrees in part. For the dating of this manuscript see p. 207.

A manuscript, mainly in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), with some parts apparently in other hands, containing an elegy to 'W. Vn o G. y Gedol ... a fy farw ... yn y flwyddyn 1775' by Evans (pp. 1-8), and other poetry by him (pp. 275-308), Thomas Jones (Twm Siôn Cati), Siôn Cent, Edmwnd Prys and others (pp. 1-12, 33-114, 205-218, 247-258, 275-310); extracts from the manuscripts of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt (pp. 13-32, 119-126, 142-158) and John David Rhys (Siôn Dafydd Rhys) (pp. 139-141); notes relating to Lewis Morris (pp. 115-118); a copy of the charter of Clynnog Fawr (pp. 127-130) (see Monasticon Anglicanum, vol. Three copybooks, in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), containing a copy of Sir John Price's The Description of Wales (Oxford, 1673) (NLW MS 2017iB); the Officium Beatæ Mariæ in Welsh from a copy made by Dafydd Ddu Hiraddug (NLW MS 2017iiB, pp. 1-30); extracts from the library of Thomas Tanner (NLW MS 2017iiB, pp. 31-43); and material relating to Gerald of Wales taken from John Leland (NLW MS 2017iiiB).

The greater part of the manuscript was written in the seventeenth century; but there are additions and marginal notes to the nineteenth century. There is an index ('Tabl y llyfr') to ff. 1--76, in a seventeenth century hand. Between ff. 4 and 6 are inserted two leaves (pp. 129-30, 135-6) of David Jones (Trefriw) (ed.): Cydymaith Diddan (Caer Lleon [1766]).

An imperfect, composite volume (pp. 33-86, two imperfect, unnumbered leaves, pp. 93-146, with p. 72 blank) containing transcripts of Welsh strict-metre verse, mostly in the form of 'cywyddau', by Tudur Aled, William Phylip, Siôn Phylip, Siôn Dafydd Siencin, David ap Gwilim, Owen Gwynedd, William Lleyn, Evan Tew (1590), Ellis Rowland, Tomas Prys ('o Blas Iolyn'), Dafydd ddu ('o hiraddig'), Morys Thomas Howel, Siôn Tudur ('Swyddog Yn perthun i Esgobeth Llan Elwau'), Roger Cyffin, Gwerfil Mechain, Evan ap R. ap Llewellyn, Gutto'r Glyn, Gruffydd Owen, Edward Vrien, Edward ap Rhus, Rhys Cain, Ierwerth Fynglwyd, Rhees ap Ednyfed, Rhydderch ab Evan Llwyd ('Meisdr o ddysg'), Doctor John Cent, Sir David Trefor, Dafydd Evan ab Owen, Dafydd Nanmor, and Gryffydd Gryg. 'Evan Williams, Gardener', referred to in the margin of p. 63 as the owner of the volume in 1779, is possibly the same person.
