Letter from Elizabeth Benson, Secretary of the Women's National Land Service Corps, to Principal E. H. Griffiths, confirming that names of volunteers are not required, only numbers, in order to establish how large an area will be planted for the coming year. Suggests staff volunteers could be accomodated separately, and be reassured that they would not find themselves working under the direction of one of the students.

[Students' Representative Council?], requesting a list of students who have received parental permission to volunteer, and confirmation of the length of time the students will volunteer for, in respect of those who had not already provided this information.

Griffiths, as present holder of the office of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales]. The letter quotes from a statement which confirms a willingness to accept prisoners' records of study as part of a course of study or examination - the addressee is asked to confirm if their University will subscribe to this statement.

Davies, Board of Education, dated 12 Mar 1917, intended for Griffiths, as present holder of the office of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales.

Letter from A. K. Keen, General Manager of Guest Keen and Nettlefolds Ltd., Dowlais Cardiff Works to Mr R. H. Greaves, in support of Greaves' application for exemption from call up. Confirms that the work of the Metallurgical Department, under Greaves' charge, has 'rendered us valuable scientific assistance in connection with the micography of steel bearing on our industrial practice', and hopes this work will not be interrupted (i.e. by Greaves' potential call up). A note indicates that a copy of the letter was sent to the Royal Society and to Sir Selby-Bigge).
