Includes essays submitted whilst a theological student at Boston University, 1927-1928; papers concerning the dignity of honorary canon, 1927-1953, including a letter from Archbishop Charles Alfred Green and copy opinion of John, viscount Sankey; a volume of press cuttings concerning the donor's period as curate of Llan-Rhos, 1930-1934; a file of correspondence, 1939-1980, including letters from Archbishop Glyn Simon and Gwilym Williams, David Daniel Bartlett, bishop of St Asaph, Sir Idris Foster, Rev. Principal R. Tudur Jones, Sir Ben Bowen Thomas and Benjamin Vaughan, bishop of Swansea and Brecon, discussing church affairs, historical publications and research, and the donor's retirement; notes preparatory to conferences of the Rural Deanery of Arllechwedd, 1953-1957, and programmes of special events held at Bangor cathedral, 1962-1971. Amongst the papers relating to the donor's academic interests are a notebook containing biographical details of Bangor clerics; a notebook and a volume of press cuttings concerning the history of Llanllyfni, co. Caern; and notes, press cuttings and correspondence about the early history of the church.
