Personal papers of the donor,

The items relate mainly to the donor's career and include correspondence and papers in connection with his appointment as vicar of Conwy, 1949, rector of Llandudno, 1956, archdeacon of Bangor, 1957, and dean of the cathedral church at Bangor, 1962; letters to and copies of letters from the donor while he held the above appointments and also as rector of Llanllyfni, 1938-1949, and rural dean of Arllechwedd, 1953-1957; correspondence and cuttings relating to Ffurfiau Ordeinio Holl Eglwysi Cymru o 1559 (Caerfyrddin, 1943); and cuttings of miscellaneous articles.

Includes essays submitted whilst a theological student at Boston University, 1927-1928; papers concerning the dignity of honorary canon, 1927-1953, including a letter from Archbishop Charles Alfred Green and copy opinion of John, viscount Sankey; a volume of press cuttings concerning the donor's period as curate of Llan-Rhos, 1930-1934; a file of correspondence, 1939-1980, including letters from Archbishop Glyn Simon and Gwilym Williams, David Daniel Bartlett, bishop of St Asaph, Sir Idris Foster, Rev. Principal R. Tudur Jones, Sir Ben Bowen Thomas and Benjamin Vaughan, bishop of Swansea and Brecon, discussing church affairs, historical publications and research, and the donor's retirement; notes preparatory to conferences of the Rural Deanery of Arllechwedd, 1953-1957, and programmes of special events held at Bangor cathedral, 1962-1971.
