The file comprises correspondence and papers, 1962-1987, concerning the cataloguing and the use of the extensive Thomas Jones Papers in the custody of the National Library of Wales. Among the projects covered by the correspondence are the publication of the successive volumes of Keith Middlemas (ed.), Thomas Jones Whitehall Diary, 3 vols. (London, 1969-1971), the use of the papers concerning Gregynog, the publication of E. L. Ellis, The University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1872-1972 (Cardiff, 1972), the preparation of the biography of Thomas Jones by Dr Ellis, and the donation of the Jones Papers to the National Library in 1984 by Lady White and Mr Tristan Jones.
