Over a hundred and fifty letters, 1961-88 in English, Welsh and French, from various correspondents (surnames Jones-W). The letters, some of which include fair copies of published poems, are chiefly concerned with contemporary writing in Wales in both English and Welsh and with the recipient's work as editor of a number of volumes in this field. The correspondents include Glyn Jones (36, and three poems) 1967-86, Gwyn Jones (6) 1967-87, Saunders Lewis (1) 1974, Roland Mathias (17) 1961-86, Leslie Norris (32, and one poem) 1967-86, Eigra Lewis Roberts (2) 1970-3, R. S. Thomas (1) 1975, John Tripp (8) 1968-78, Harri Webb (14) 1967-79, and Kyffin Williams (8) 1970-1.

Some seventy-five letters, 1939-83, to Keidrych Rhys from various correspondents (surnames M-P), mainly in his capacity as editor of Wales and Welsh correspondent of The People, together with poems, short stories and essays submitted to him for publication. The correspondents and contributors include Hugh MacDiarmid (1) 1939, Dyfnallt Morgan (3) 1963, Robert Morgan (1) 1963, James/Jan Morris (3) 1967-75, Leslie Norris (1, with five poems) [c. 1958]-1968, and Caradog Prichard (1) 1959.

The file comprises correspondence, including draft letters by Glyn Jones, 1923-1994 (with gaps), mostly personal letters which appear to be from friends and relatives. Some items also relate to literary works, broadcasts etc. by him, and to his position as member of the Drama Sub-committee of the Arts Council of Great Britain Welsh Committee, 1961-1962, and as a member of Yr Academi Gymreig (English Language Section), 1978-1979, 1981. Among the correspondents are Roland Mathias, Aneirin Talfan Davies, Elwyn Evans, John Elwyn (2), John Greve (3, including a copy of a talk by him on the work of Glyn Jones, broadcast 1958), John Ackerman Jones, Leslie Norris (3), and John Ormond. Some letters are addressed to newspaper editors and a few were sent by various correspondents to Doreen Jones. In addition, the file includes lists of letters sent and received by Glyn Jones, 1960x1985.

The file comprises papers, mostly correspondence, 1968-1969 and 1972-1973, relating to Contemporary poets of the English language (London, 1970 and 1975). Glyn Jones was an editorial consultant to the work, and recommended Anglo-Welsh poets for inclusion in the volume, as well as contributing articles on Leslie Norris and R. S. Thomas, drafts of which are included in this file. Among the correspondents are Rosalie Murphy, editor of the first edition (13), Aneirin Talfan Davies, R. The file comprises mainly of correspondence, 1968-1969, relating to the preliminary meeting and other early meetings of the English Language Section of the Academi. The preliminary meeting was arranged by Meic Stephens and the file includes invitations sent out by him, letters of reply, and letters commenting on this first meeting. The file also includes letters inviting writers to become members of the Academi, their replies and lists of those writers who have accepted or declined membership. There are a few references to discussions about the establishment of a new English language literary magazine, an idea which was rejected for the time being.
