William Evans Davies, Drefach, sermons etc,

Notebooks and unbound material containing prayers, sermon notes, addresses, 'suggestions for various occasions', extracts from printed sources etc. in the hand of William Evans Davies (1861-1945), pastor of Drefach (Henllan) and of Ferryside and Coedybrain Baptist churches, and later of Ilford and Newcastle Emlyn; together with correspondence, 1934-1946, portraits, and other material towards his biography. They include press cuttings, pasted and labelled by him, printed items, press releases, memoranda and reports, circulars, circular letters, together with a small quantity of personal correspondence and notes by Robin Reeves.

The group consists of correspondence and papers, 1988-1990, concerning the foundation and early development of the Welsh Social and Liberal Democrats following the merger of the Liberal Party and the Social Democratic Party. They include papers concerning the successful ballot to merge, the mechanics and outcome of the merger, interim arrangements, the role of various committees and sub-committees, the selection and approval of candidates, notes, reports and memoranda, agenda and minutes of meetings, and financial papers.

Papers, 1992-7, relating to the research and production of Professor Tony Curtis, Welsh Painters Talking (Seren Books, 1997), comprising correspondence, photographs and typescript drafts of interviews between Tony Curtis and the artists included in the volume, namely Iwan Bala, Charles Burton, Felicity Charlton, Arthur Giardelli, John Knapp-Fisher, Shani Rhys James, Sally Moore, Peter Prendergast, Will Roberts, Kevin Sinnott, Kyffin Williams and Ernest Zobole. The tapes are held in the Library's Sound and Moving Image Collection (CM 8093-112)

Welsh Affairs,

Correspondence and papers, 1905-51, relating to many aspects of Welsh life and Welsh institutions with which Lord Davies was actively involved. These include the Presbyterian Church in Wales, the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth (especially the Wilson chair of International Politics at the college), the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, the National Library of Wales, the Welsh National Memorial Association and the Temple of Peace at Cathays Park, Cardiff.
