A file of source materials, originals and photocopies, assembled by O. Trevor Roberts while preparing Elfyn a'i Waith (Llanrwst, 1993), a study of R. O. Hughes, Ffestiniog (1858-1919). Included are photographs, press cuttings from newspapers and journals, poetry by 'Elfyn' and correspondence. The correspondents include R. O. Hughes ('Elfyn'), Humphrey Jones ('Bryfdir') and J. W. Jones.

Foulkes-Roberts, [c. 1882]-[1941], containing extracts from parish registers, mainly from Denbighshire and Flintshire; transcripts of tombstone inscriptions and church memorials, copies of probate records from the Dioceses of Bangor and St Asaph, and the Principal Probate Registry; and notes and extracts from marriage licence bonds, clergy subscription books and other St Asaph diocesan records. The copies were made by A. Foulkes-Roberts and his brother R.D. Roberts.

Notebooks of Thomas (Tom) Jones, Trealaw, containing a draft of 'A Glossary of the Welsh of Glamorgan', 1907, with manuscript and typescript additions and corrections, and pasted-in newspaper cuttings, c. 1908 - c. 1936. Submitted for competition, under the pseudonym 'Meurig', at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Swansea, 1907, the essay was awarded joint first prize, with that of Thomas Christopher Evans ('Cadrawd'). A letter, 1910, from Sir Edward Anwyl has been tipped in on f. iii of MS 23476.

A proof copy of the Rev[erend] Thomas Rowland: A Grammar of the Welsh Language . . . (2nd ed., London, 1857). The inside, upper cover is inscribed 'The proof sheets. Presented by the author to the Rev. D. Ll. James [David Lloyd James, vicar of Pontrobert], Oct. 20th 1865', and on the fly-leaf is a parody by 'Brutus of Haul fame' [David Owen, editor of Yr Haul] of the seven-line hymn stanza [by Evan Jenkins of Llansamlet, commencing 'Duwioldeb yn ei grym'].

A mid twentieth-century typescript copy of the journal of the Liberal politician and educational reformer Sir Arthur Herbert Dyke Acland (1847-1926), MP for Rotherham, 1885-99, marked 'volume i' and covering the period 26 January 1871 - 27 March 1898. The journal, which contains details of personal, family and political matters, consists mainly of intermittent entries, mostly written retrospectively and often lengthy.
