Thomas Townsend, my ancestor, married Miss Barker whose mother was a Miss Loveden of Buscot (he was the second son of the Townsends of Bisley in Gloucestershire, which was our family place) his son had to change his name to Loveden and he was the Edward Loveden whom for his third wife married Miss Pryse, and this house and Estate, and her son had to take the name of Pryse. The majority of the plate came from Edward Loveden's 2nd wife who was the widow of Alderman Nash, Lord Mayor of London; there is hardly any Pryse Plate here."
