Rhestr o lyfrau, etc. gan D. Silvan Evans,

A notebook in the hand of D. Silvan Evans containing a list of eighteenth century Welsh printed books 'Had from Myrddin Fardd, July 1, 1881'; a few glossary words; and brief notes on some Carmarthenshie and Cardiganshire river names. There are also some Latin exercises (Nos. [33]-40), presumably in the hand of the original owner of the volume.

Scrap-book of 'Myrddin Fardd',

A scrap-book of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') lettered 'Cadw mi gei'. The manuscript items include a list in the hand of 'Myrddin Fardd' of family mottoes of North Wales interest; English translations by Henry W[illia]m Hewlett, 34 Great James Street, Bedford Row [London], c.1827-8, and Welsh translations by 'Myrddin Fardd', c. 1876-8, of public records relating to Pwllheli and Criccieth; glossaries by 'Myrddin Fardd' of Welsh words (e.g. obscure words, flower names); an explanatory list by 'Myrddin Fardd' of Caernarvonshire place-names; entries by 'Myrddin Fardd' of sales by him of manuscripts to D. G. Goodwin, Salop, 1893, and to J. H. Davies, Cwrt Mawr, 1899-1900; entries by 'Myrddin Fardd' of births, deaths and burials of members of his family; and a holograph 'englyn' ('Beddargraff Owen Jones (Manoethwy)') by E[llis] O[wen], Cefnymeusydd, 1866. The press cuttings cover a wide range of Welsh literary and antiquarian interests and include portraits of Welsh celebrities, prospectuses and reviews of publications by 'Myrddin Fardd', prospectuses of Arwest Farddol Glan Geirionydd, 1880, 1888-9, fragments of Y Beibl Cyssegr-Lan (1588), being the first complete Welsh translation of the Bible (with notes by 'Myrddin Fardd' on the disposal of two copies of this edition of the Bible once in his possession), etc. The volume is numbered '1' on the upper cover and on the upper end-paper.

Subscribers to Enwogion Llŷn,

A list of subscribers to a proposed biographical dictionary by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') entitled Enwogion Llŷn [see Cwrtmawr MS 559]. The names are partly autograph and partly in the hand of 'Myrddin Fardd'.

Tipyn o Bobpeth,

A volume lettered on the spine 'Tipyn o Bobpeth', being a scrap-book of press cuttings compiled c. 1900-02 by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). On two occasions only has the compiler recorded his sources, i. e. Y Cerddor and Y Drych, but inferentially there are many cuttings from the latter. Torion o bapurau newyddion, etc.,

A collection largely of printed matter from the library of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), including prospectuses of his Gleanings from God's Acre (Pwllheli, 1903), Enwogion Sir Gaernarfon (Caernarfon, 1922) and 'The Works of Bards of Llyn and Eifionydd'; a printed copy review (o'r "Drych") of Enwau Lleoedd Sir Gaernarfon (Caernarfon, [1913]); press cuttings, with some annotations, entitled 'Hela hen Eiriau' (by [J. Spinther James] 'Spinther'), 'George Borrow,' 'Edward Ellis, Dinbych' (by John Edwards, Rosendale, Wis.), 'William W. Lewis, Ysw.' (of Cincinnati, Ohio), 'Hen Farddoniaeth y Cymry' (by [David Davies] 'Dewi Emlyn', Parisville, Ohio), etc.; extracts from the parish register, with copies of the principal monumental inscriptions in the church and churchyard, of Criccieth, and extracts from the registers of Ynyscynhaiarn, both in the county of Carnarvon (7pp.); and An Historical Chart, representing in a Chronological series, the Rise, Revolutions and Fall of the Principal Empires of the World (London, 1795).

Translations of articles from Archaeologia Cambrensis,

A notebook containing translations into Welsh of articles and notes largely of Llŷn interest from Archaeologia Cambrensis, Vols. I-IV, 1846-9 (not in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), except for the references to Archaeologia Cambrensis.) There are also some loose papers, including a translation in the autograph of R. P. Morris of a note on Bodwrda, Aberdaron [Archaeologia Cambrensis, 1849, p. 208] sent to 'Myrddin Fardd', and translations in another hand of notes on inscribed stones at Llannor and Cefnamwlch [Archaeologia Cambrensis, 1847, p. 201, and 1859, p. 53].

Trysorfa yr Awen ...,

A volume written almost entirely in the autograph of John Roberts ('Siôn Lleyn'; 1749-1817) containing poetry largely of his own composition, with some items by other poets. The volume is in two sections and there is a list of contents at the beginning covering pp. 1-145 in the first section. The wording on the title-page is 'Trysorfa yr Awen sef Casgliad o Ganiadau, Sion Lleyn, 1787,' but some of the items are of later date. The other poets represented are David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu o'r Eryri'), Robert Prich[ar]d (Robert Prichiard Sion,'Robin'r Aber'), T[h]om[a]s Edward[s] Nant, D. Edward, Lewis Morys, John Hughes ('pandy bach pentre ucha yn Lleyn'), Richard Powel, Evan Owens, Glan-yllynnay (Llanystumdwy), MrEfan Efans ('Bardd hir') [Ieuan Brydydd Hir], Evan Rich[ar]d (Bryncroes), [David Jones] Dafydd Sion Pierce ('Dafydd Brydydd hir'), Dafydd ap Sion, Owen Griffith, Hugh Lloed [sic] Cynfal, Goronwy Owen(s) ('Goronwy Ddu o Fôn'), Edmund Prys and Griffith Philip. One or two items (p. 2 in the first section and pp. 142-5 at the end of the volume) appear to be in the autograph of John Thomas ('Siôn Wyn o Eifion'). One 'cywydd' in the volume (p. 118 in the first section) is headed 'Annerch Ieuan Bryncroes i Sion Lleyn wedi dyfod i ymweled a mi i Chappel Rhyd-y-Clafrdy pryd yr oeddwn yno yn cadw ysgol y fln 1791 y mis Medi' . The volume contains some notes in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), press cuttings and also a copy (printed) of Marwnad, neu Goffadwriaeth y Brawd Robert Roberts, o Sir Gaernarfon : yr hwn a ymadawodd â'r Byd hwn Tachwedd 28, 1802. Yn llawn 40 mlwydd Oed : wedi bod yn pregethu'r Efengyl 15 mlynedd. 8 pp. (Caernarfon : Argraphwyd gan T. Roberts, n.d.) by S. Lleyn. On p. 4 in the second section are 'Trioedd y Crinwas neu'r Cybydd'.
