Correspondence and related papers

Correspondence and related papers. The correspondence has been kept as George Ewart Evans arranged it, divided into two basic groups, namely official and private letters, although there is inevitably some degree of overlap between the groups. Where applicable the author's original titles for the files have been retained. Both groups contain examples of draft or copy letters sent by George Ewart Evans himself to various individuals or organisations. A small proportion of the items are written in Welsh. The related material includes notes, certificates, press cuttings and other printed items.

Reviews,

This group, consisting principally of newspaper cuttings, correspondence and papers, had been arranged prior to its arrival at the Library. This arrangement has not been substantially altered, even though it does not always maintain a strict chronological order. Class I2 includes some similar material.

1988 Purchase,

This first group of correspondence, literary and personal papers of the poet Dannie Abse (b. 1923) was purchased from R. A. Gekoski, 14 Portland Place West, Leamington Spa, in May 1988 (B1988/15).
