Ed[ward] Jones at Talysarn,

Grateful for the information on the summonsing of some individuals for overzealous celebration of John Bryn Roberts's victory in the election. John Bryn Roberts reluctant to defend them openly.

Rev[eren]d R[ichard] Lumley [at Trevor, Carnarvonshire],

Dublin paving contracts - Trevor quarries dismayed at show of favour to Parnell. John Bryn Roberts accused of a 'sneering spirit'. Jones-Parry, Mitchell Henry [Tory MP] and [George] Farren [Manager, Welsh Granite Co. Ltd., Trevor quarries]. [See Hansard, 3rd Ser., vol. CCCIII. 1158].

John Bryn Roberts,

Disappointing. None covering his period as MP. The early ones refer to his legal business and to his leisure activities: chess, hunting. The remainder note scarcely more than County Court engagements and Sunday preachers.
