Papers of Emyr Humphreys, 1882-2019, arranged in two groups.
The first group consists of papers of Emyr Humphreys, 1908-1993, comprising mainly correspondence, 1930-1993, including personal correspondence, 1939-1993, correspondence between parties other than Emyr Humphreys, 1930-1993, and correspondence relating directly to his work, 1942-1994, and his interests, such as the arts and politics, including papers relating to Plaid Cymru and Gymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, 1956-1992; volumes, published and unpublished, [1946]x1991; short stories, in manuscript and typescript form, together with some poems and scripts and unidentified prose, 1937x1981; articles, reviews, adjudications and lectures, c. 1949x1993; radio and television scripts, including scripts containing references to Emyr Humphreys, with contributions by him and reviews of his work, 1946xc. 1993; poems, 1936xc. 1993; together with miscellaneous items, which include a file of official publications, circulars, memoranda and related papers (c. 1945-1946) relating to the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration in Italy, and Welsh and English newspaper cuttings, 1908-1990.
Additional papers, 1882-2019, were received in February 2022, comprising correspondence, 1929-2019; papers relating to novels and prose works by Emyr Humphreys and others, 1931-2017; papers relating to collections of poetry by Emyr Humphreys, 1902-2019, published and unpublished; notebooks and papers, [?1938x?1948]-2014, relating to collections of short stories by Emyr Humphreys, published and unpublished; scripts for stage and television and related papers, 1882-2010; administrative papers, 1943-2009; articles, lectures, and essays by Emyr Humphreys and others, 1938-2019; published items, 1917-2019, collected by and relating to the works of Emyr Humphreys, including cuttings and magazines; notebooks and papers, 1906-1966, of the Rev. Griffith Jones, Llanwnda; and other miscellaneous items and papers kept and collected by Emyr Humphreys, 1922-2013.

Archive relating to Elfyn Llwyd's activities as MP for Meirionydd Nant Conwy and Dwyfor Meirionydd and as a member of Plaid Cymru. the archive contains material relating to Parliamentary work including committee work and legislative scrutiny, local and national party arrangements, speeches and correspondence.

Series contains papers relating to the national and local organisation of Plaid Cymru including material related to conferences, the Meirionydd Nant Conwy regional committee, internal elections and policy.

Seventy-three letters in Welsh, 1923-83, from the novelist and short-story writer Kate Roberts to Saunders Lewis, reflecting the growth of Kate Roberts as a writer and the early recognition and constant encouragement shown to her in her literary career by Saunders Lewis. Other matters discussed include the activities of the Welsh Nationalist Party mainly before 1945 and the state of Welsh literature in general during the period of the correspondence.

File comprises scripts fr Patrick Hanna's contributions to a BBC Radio 4 programme entitled 'In Britain Now', where journalists from the 'regions' of the UK spoke on various topics . The topics covered by Patrick Hannan from Wales included devolution, Gwynfor Evans, the coal industry, miners' strikes, the clean up after coal, Plaid Cymru, Wales as a nation, the European Economic Community (EEC) and industrial illnesses notably pneumoconiosis. The file also contains typed transcripts of the programme which include contributions from correspondents in other parts of the UK.

Papers of Aber Research, an organisation founded by the donor to conduct opinion polls and gather statistical information on behalf of Plaid Cymru during the 1990s, including a background paper, opinion poll reports, General Election statistical reports, correspondence, press cuttings and related documents.

The archive comprises the papers of Jill Evans, mostly produced and accumulated in the course of her work as a Member of the European Parliament for Plaid Cymru between 1999 and 2020 and include material relating to various campaigns on employment, the environment, women's issues, food standards, international development, the Iraq war, the Welsh language and Catalonia.

Cafodd ei arestio yn fuan wedi'r digwyddiad, a'i ryddhau ar fechnïaeth ar y 21 Chwefror. = A letter, 24 February 1963, from Emyr Llew[elyn] Jones, Llandysul, to sixth-form students at Ysgol Ardudwy, Harlech, including William H. Owen, thanking them for their letter supporting his action in detonating an explosive device at the construction site of the Tryweryn dam on 10 February. He had been arrested soon after the incident but was released on bail on the 21 February.

The archive comprises election ephemera, including election addresses, posters, drafts of election material, mostly for Plaid Cymru candidates for UK Parliament and local elections, along with some ephemera related to anti-nuclear weapons and anti-nuclear power campaigns and Plaid Cymru publications.

File comprises assorted Plaid Cymru publications including: Wales Against Conscription; A Trade Union Congress for Wales; The Welsh Political Tradition; Political Policing in Wales; Llawlyfr Canghennau Plaid Cymru; Dyma Plaid Cymru; Save Cwm Tryweryn for Wales along with other related booklets and pamphlets including Maniffesto Adfer, and a poster "Dim boddi Dulas/Hands off Dulas".

The file comprises election ephemera related to Plaid Cymru candidates in parliamentary elections including Vic Davies in Rhondda West (1966), Errol Jones in Pontypridd (1970), Hywel ap Robert in Ceredigion (1970), Edward Merriman in Ogmore (1970), Dafydd Wigley in Merioneth (1970), Carwyn James in Llanelli (1970), as well as a leaflet by Dafydd Elis Thomas campaigning for the role of Vice-President of Plaid Cymru and some handwritten drafts of election addresses.

Messages from Saunders Lewis, D. J. Williams and Lewis Valentine to the Welsh Nationalist Party newspaper Y Ddraig Goch, September 1937, following their release from prison after serving a sentence for the arson attack at the bombing-school at Penyberth; together with a note from Lewis Valentine to Morris T. Williams and his wife, Kate Roberts.

Forty-seven letters, 1924-6, from Saunders Lewis to Margaret Gilcriest. Early letters, 1924, discuss marriage and his family's opposition to Margaret because she was a Catholic. Later letters, 1926, to Margaret at Holyhead, contain references to the first Plaid Cymru Summer School at Machynlleth. Included is a letter to Margaret, 1924, from Ellen Thomas, Saunders Lewis's aunt.

Correspondence between John Legonna, figures in the Welsh, Breton and Celtic nationalist, socialist and literary communities, contributors and subscribers to 'Cilmeri', publishers, periodicals, banks, family and friends, concerning a wide range of political, literary and personal matters, especially the production and content of 'Cilmeri' and other publications, the New Nation Group, Plaid Cymru, Welsh republican groups, nationalist and socialist movements in Wales and other Celtic countries, the Celtic League and pan-Celtic politics, and Legonna's personal problems and arrangements at the end of his life, including his intended writing projects, together with articles, poems and reviews intended for publication in 'Cilmeri', including a curriculum vitae of Olier Mordrel, and also related press cuttings and lists of books available from Club Leabhar (the Highland Book Club).
