Hanley, relating mainly to personal matters and to the progress of the writer's literary work, together with a few letters from the same to other members of the family and a letter, 1941, to his American patron Dr George H. Patterson of Los Angeles.

Hanley, containing mainly personal news and comments on the progress of her husband's writing as well as her own literary and artistic work. Also included are letters to James Hanley from other relatives and friends, notably R. S. Thomas (5) 1959-[1984], and from the artist Gladys Vasey to the writer Reginald Graham Moore (1) 1949, both the latter being friends of the Hanleys.
