A small collection of material of Lloyd George interest acquired by Mr William Griffiths, formerly of Foyle's Bookshop in London. It includes a framed photograph of Lloyd George taken in c. 1939-1940, together with a photograph of him as a young politician by John Thomas, c. 1896 (6394992/2), and a family group photograph taken at the same time and including Dame Margaret, three of the Lloyd George children, D. R. Daniel and John Herbert Lewis (6394992/3). There are two letters from Lloyd George to Daniel, dated 1902 and relating to the Penrhyn Quarry dispute and a note from Asquith, dated 1903. A group of letters to William Griffiths, mainly concerning publication matters, include letters from A. J. Sylvester, 1937-1940; Frances Stevenson, later Lady Lloyd-George, 1939 and 1950; Dame Margaret Lloyd George, 1940, and Major Gwilym Lloyd-George, 1945.
