A composite volume comprising Llyfr Gweddi Gyffredin (Llundain, 1634) lacking title-page, and Llyfr y Psalmau, wedi ev cyfieithv a'i cyfansoddi ar fesvr cerdd yn Gymraeg by Edmund Prys, Archdeacon of Merioneth (Llundain, 1638) with many seventeenth- and eighteenth-century marginal and additional notes in Welsh, English, and Latin. The manuscript additions include a prayer in Welsh (Llyfr Gweddi Gyffredin B8v), verse in Welsh by Ellizabeth Price 'i dyrfa Llandanwg'(ibid 06), englynion by 'H.M.' [Huw Morus] and 'H.E.R.' (ibid Aa1v), a riddle in Latin (ibid Gg7), and entries relating to the births and baptisms of the children of Richard Poole of Tyddin y Felin, Llanfair-iuxta-Harlech, co. Merioneth (f. ii, ibid Mm2v, Llyfr y Psalmau A1v), and of Richard Vaughan, esq., of Corsygedol (f. iv verso).

A volume containing Welsh poetry, mostly in strict metre (pp. 1-433), together with some prose items, including recipes for making inks and baits for catching trout (pp. xvii-xviii), a short Welsh vocabulary (pp. xix-xxii), descriptions of the coats of arms of Welsh families (pp. 444-454) and the names of the Fifteen Tribes of Gwynedd (pp. 454-456), written in a late-seventeenth century hand.
Many of the sixteenth- and seventeenth-century poems are addressed to members of the families of Owen of Clenennau and Brogyntyn and Wynn of Glyn and Ystumcegid: the manuscript was probably compiled for Elizabeth Wynn of Glyn and Ystumcegid or for her daughter Margaret Wynn shortly after the latter's marriage in 1683 to Sir Robert Owen of Clenennau and Brogyntyn (see pp. 23-25). An index to the poems is supplied by the scribe on pp. 434-443. Poetry in more than one hand has been added between c. 1691 and c. 1713 on pp. vii, 457-476, 484-485, 489-510, including elegies to Sir Robert Owen by Huw Morys (pp. 468-471) and to his sister-in-law Mrs Catherine Pennant by David Davies (p. 473), and a poem in free metre, dated 1713, probably by Dafydd Williams, Rhuthun (p. vii).

A miscellany containing a metrical dissertation on Psalm 8, verses 3 and 4, followed by a poem dealing with the seven planets; 'Darlleniad diwiol'; 'Carol i Fair', beginning 'Yngwledydd Judea yr oedd Zackaria'; a part of a carol by Mathe[w] Owen; a 'cywydd', a 'dyri', and a carol by Huw Morus; a 'dyri' by Edwart Rolant ('o'r bala'); 'Erapater dros byth a gaed o lyfr Thomas Jones ... 1701'; farm notes for 1702; etc. -- Much of the volume is in the hand of Richard Roberts, whose name, with the date 'Mai 21, 1699', appears on one folio. At the end of the manuscript is the note: - 'Llyfr y coch o Hergist yn y glasgoed y mae ef'.
