Scott Inquiry

The file contains correspondence and papers, 1993-1994, concerning the proceedings of the Scott Inquiry into government policy on defence exports to Iraq. The letters relate mainly to an accusation that James Callaghan, then Chancellor of the Exchequer, had lied to the House of Commons over plans to devalue the pound in 1967.
