The file comprises correspondence, including draft letters by Glyn Jones, 1923-1994 (with gaps), mostly personal letters which appear to be from friends and relatives. Some items also relate to literary works, broadcasts etc. by him, and to his position as member of the Drama Sub-committee of the Arts Council of Great Britain Welsh Committee, 1961-1962, and as a member of Yr Academi Gymreig (English Language Section), 1978-1979, 1981. Among the correspondents are Roland Mathias, Aneirin Talfan Davies, Elwyn Evans, John Elwyn (2), John Greve (3, including a copy of a talk by him on the work of Glyn Jones, broadcast 1958), John Ackerman Jones, Leslie Norris (3), and John Ormond. Some letters are addressed to newspaper editors and a few were sent by various correspondents to Doreen Jones. In addition, the file includes lists of letters sent and received by Glyn Jones, 1960x1985.

The file comprises an incomplete typescript with some manuscript amendments, [1963], and correspondence, 1963-1966, 1968, 1971, including draft letters by Glyn Jones, relating to The Island of Apples (London, 1965), together with papers, 1990 and 1992-1994, pertaining to the revised edition (Cardiff, 1992). Most of the letters are from the literary agents, Laurence Pollinger Ltd, and publishers, J. M. Dent & Sons Ltd, and Gwyn Jones, Elwyn Evans, Kate Roberts, Belinda Humfrey and Roland Mathias are among the correspondents. Also included are related papers regarding the publication of the novel.

M. Dent & Sons Ltd, and includes letters from Jack Jones (copy), Raymond Garlick, Gwyn Jones (2), Gwyn Thomas, Les Faber, Elwyn Davies, Aneirin Talfan Davies, Elwyn Evans, A. G. Prys-Jones (2), and Roland Mathias. Some letters contain references to The island of apples. -- Also included are royalty statements, 1956-1960 and 1980-1983, drafts of extracts from the novel which appear to have been adapted for radio [1963], miscellaneous notes, 1956-1958, printed reviews of the novel, 1956-1957, and a copy of the introduction to the 1980 reprint of the book.
