The file comprises manuscript draft letters by David Jones to W. H. Auden relating to The Anathemata, 1954, and to T. S. Eliot relating to his illustration of 'The cultivation of Christmas Trees', 1953, with a manuscript letter (and typescript copy) from Jim Ede to David Jones, 1928, and a typescript copy of a 'Description of project' submitted by David Jones to the Bollingen foundation, c. 1960.

The file comprises letters to David Jones relating to In Parenthesis, The Anathemata and various topics, from Laurence Binyon, Stephen Spender (3 letters, 1 incomplete), Sir Edward Marsh (3), John Lehmann, Evelyn Waugh, Sir Herbert Read, Professor John H. Johnston, Anthony Powell (2), W. H. Auden, Hilaire Belloc, Graham Greene, and John Waine. Also a letter from Mark Heathcoat Amory to Harman Grisewood, a note from Harman Grisewood to David Jones, a copy of a letter from Katherine Asquith, and a typed poem by Anthony Conran.

Papers, 1935-1945, of the Rev. B. George Rees, Curate of Llangynwyd, Maesteg (1936-38), and Laleston (1938-44), Rector of Llansannor (1944-48), and a WEA lecturer on literature at the Maesteg Unemployed Centre and elsewhere. The papers include letters, 1939-1940, from a number of authors and poets, responding to requests by Rees for their thoughts on lecture subjects such as 'Life and Literature'.

Also included are notes, newspaper cuttings and other papers relating to Rees's lectures (ff. 66-91); and papers, 1935-1945, relating to his Church career, including letters and telegrams concerning his Institution at Llansannor, August-September 1944 (ff. 92-100), sermon notes (ff. 102-109), and parish magazines and pages from annual reports relating to Laleston, 1935-1944 (ff. 110-120).
