Powys biographer Morine Krissdottir has added dates to some of the letters and there is a note in her hand attached to f. 1.

Twenty-three letters and one [?]incomplete letter, 1946, to John Cowper Powys from his sister Marian Powys, mostly containing personal and family news, with references to the death of novelist and journalist Theodore Dreiser in 1945. Enclosures comprise one letter from Marian to 'Miss Pritchett' relating to Reginald Pole's rôle in a production of a play by John Cowper Powys (possibly Paddock Calls (1922)), and one letter [to John Cowper Powys] from Anne Gale Hyde.
