Disinvestment in South Africa,

Material relating to an Anti-Apartheid Movement (AAM) disinvestment campaign which sought to raise awareness of the extent of British investment in South Africa and how this supported the Apartheid regime there. This file contains material aimed mainly at students attending British universities, consisting of campaign briefings and instructions, correspondence between particular student unions and Barclays Bank, draft memoranda, and printed reports and studies by various organisations such as the AAM, Leeds University South Africa Disinvestment Group, and the United Nations. Also a Trades Union Congress (TUC) report on the withdrawal of all British investment from South Africa, which was circulated to Trade Union Pension Fund Trustees.
