The books are mainly in Welsh or other Celtic languages or relate to Wales and other Celtic countries. There are notes relating to many of the books, mainly describing their condition and whether Sir John Williams already had a copy. Inset is a letter, 25 April 1907, from J. Kyrle Fletcher, Newport, Monmouthshire (books for sale and the writer's own interest in books).

A scrapbook of material relating to William Thomas ('Islwyn'), including press cuttings, etc., in connection with negotiations for the purchase and restoration of his birthplace at Tŷ'r Agent, Ynys-ddu, 1925-1926, and press cuttings, correspondence (addressed to A. W. Games, Cwmfelin-fach), printed matter, photographs, labels attached to relics and personalia, and a balance sheet, in connection with centenary celebration meetings held in 1932 at Cwmfelin-fach and Ynys-ddu. The correspondents include Timothy Rees, bishop of Llandaff, Joseph Bradney, Saunders Lewis, Ifan ab Owen Edwards and John Kyrle Fletcher.
