The contents of this volume are of a miscellaneous nature and include 'Epitre a Boileau', 1806, (first folio misplaced and to be found towards the end of the volume), a copy of a letter, 1808, from Thomas Powell, 'aux Chataignes a Tottenham' to Monsieur L'Abbé De Levisac [i.e. Jean Pons Victor Lecoutz de Levizac], 'Epistle to Capt. Cooke', a copy of a memorial inscription in Latin to Henry Michel[l], A.M. (d. 1789), items of verse in French, 'Brief Dissertation on antient Opera', 'Epitre a mi Lord Orford' [i.e. Horace Walpole], and lines in French 'To Mrs Crespigny on her Novel The Pavilion, 1796'.

Roworth, Bell-yard, Temple-bar, n.d., wanting pp. 3-6), followed by the 'first & original [manuscript] Copy' of 'Don Diego del Campo Florido. (Drama)' with some prefatory material, including a short note to Sir James W. Lake, bart.

'Nisus & Euryalus. Episode from 9th Aeneid of Virgil', viz. a metrical translation by Thomas Powell of Aeneid IX, 176-449, dedicated to his son, Frederick Charles [Powell], with the Latin hexameters facing, written in another hand [? that of F. C. Powell, see note on p. [10]]. Beneath the dedication is a note ending: 'This Translation by the Translators attention to originality, looks like his own Invention & not a Translation (?)S. T.'.

Original manuscript of 'Emma or the Baculiniad, a Poem in 5 Cantos' by Thomas Powell [privately printed: London, 1805].

A volume containing items of verse, etc. (French, Latin, English, Spanish), not all by Thomas Powell, with a reference to the transit of Venus over the sun, 3 June 1769, as observed at Clapton. A later item lists recitations at North Walsham Grammar School, June 1853.

The title on the spine and on the first page is misleading as the volume contains 'The Children in the Wood, a Tragedy', dedicated by Thomas Powell to his daughter Catherine Powell, 'since Lady Martin'. [Catherine Powell married Henry William Martin of Lockinge, Berkshire in 1792; he succeeded to the baronetcy in 1794].

A volume containing 'the fair and last transcrb'd copy, 1808, of 'Don Alonzo di Giorgio, il Conde di Montenero, a Drama' by Thomas Powell, dedicated to the Right Honble Horace Walpole, Lord Orford, with some loose papers at the end, including 'Apology for my Compositions in the french language'.

A small volume containing 'Original Compositions' by Thomas Powell, mainly in verse, some described as having been printed in The Gentleman's Magazine. The titles include 'ode to Captain James Luttrell', 'Inscription at Strawberry Hill', 'Inscription at Gloster house, Twickenham' ('Seat of James Whitchurch Esqr & his Lady - my very good Friends both'), and 'Inscription in a rural Temple in the Grove, at York House - Twickenham'.

A volume made up largely of paper-covered notebooks containing items of verse, essays, etc., including 'Epistle to Fuscus (to Lawrence ... Esqr.) on Horace's Canvas', 'Respect thyself' and 'Friendship' (written in another hand - ?that of P.C. P[owell]), both 'a Spectator', a letter 'a Spectator', 'Urania an Ode', and 'Nil admirari. To Sir James Winter Lake, Bart'. Also in the volume are an 'Epistle dedicatory to George Selwyn Esqr' beginning 'Your singular Taste in ranging after Executions ...', and some items of verse in French.

Only the cover bears the title 'Sire Hippolite', the main contents of the volume being: 'Epitre a Horace [Walpole]' and 'Le "Lutrin" refondu', i.e. 'Le Lutrin' of Boileau 'new cast' by Thomas Powell, 1807. Between these are items of verse, etc. and (in another hand) 'Discours a l'occasion du Lutrin de Boileau a notre Facon, refondu'. There is also a holograph letter in French from L'abbé de Lévizac, 'Londres ce 23 juin 1806' to Thomas Powell, Esq. 'At Tom' Coffee-house, Cornhill'.

A volume containing observations 'On Prefaces' and 'On Lyric Poesy'. The notes in red in the section 'On Lyric Poesy' are described as being by the Reverend Southam of Leigh, Tunbridge (?)Wells.

Inscription on spine is misleading, the volume containing another manuscript copy of 'Selim: Il Medico persico. Opera. 4 Acts.'

A volume containing 'Garnerinus or Arlequino Parachutus dessign'd for a grand Pantomine [altered to Pantominic] of a recent Areal [presumably Aerial] Adventure', with a letter to Sir Henry Will[ia]m Martin, Baronet, in which Thomas Powell refers to 'the late unparallell'd exploit of Monsr. Garnerin' [i.e. André Jacques Garnerin and his descent by parachute from a balloon over London, 21 September 1802], followed by a pencil sketch and a dedication to Monsr. Garnerin.

A volume containing 'Ebrienatus magnus, a Tragedy in 3 Acts' by Thomas Powell, dedicated to the Rt Hon. (Lord Orford), 1782. This appears to be an early version of the work.
