The press cuttings are taken from a variety of local and national newspapers, e.g., Monmouthshire Merlin, Merthyr Guardian, Hereford Times, Seren Cymru, Seren Gomer, Illustrated Times, Morning Post, The Times, The Observer, etc., and items of Welsh interest include accounts of coronation festivities at Abergavenny, 1831, and of the loss of the 'Rothsay Castle', 1831; a list of literary and musical competitions arranged by 'Cymreigyddion yr Alarch', Merthyr Tydfil, undated; accounts of the opening of the Crumlin Viaduct, 1857, of the destruction of the South Wales Railway bridge over the river Usk at Newport, 1848, and of the colliery explosion at Risca, 1860; and a mass of poetry by contemporary local bards. NLW MS 12355F contains two engraved portraits of the Reverend Francis Hiley, Llanwenarth, and at the end of the same manuscript are some additional press cuttings mounted by Lady H. A. Robinson, relating largely to the death of King Edward VII. The outside upper covers are labelled respectively 'Caradawc's Scrap Book No. 1' and 'Caradawc's Scrap Book No. 2'.

A volume issued, 1828, to the antiqury Angharad Llwyd, Tyn-y-rhyl, Flintshire, for the collection of subscriptions towards St David's Welsh Church, Liverpool, but utilised by her as a commonplace and autograph book. Verse and prose entries, 1830-1853, mostly of a religious nature, include autograph poetry by John Jones (Tegid), Thomas Price (Carnhuanawc), and Bryan Waller Procter (Barry Cornwall), and entries by Sir John Bernard Bosanquet, Lady Charlotte Guest, Augusta Hall, Lady Llanover, Henry Hart Milman, David Pennant, William Owen[-Pughe], Thomas Raffles, Henry Raikes, John Bird Sumner, and Frances Wrangham. Also included is a letter of address, 1828, to Angharad Llwyd from the Rev. Robert Davies, perpetual curate of St David's Church (f. iii).

Miscellaneous papers (chiefly bills, receipts and printed items (circulars, posters, and handbills), with a few items of correspondence), 1834-1847 and 1853, relating to Cymdeithas Cymreigyddion y Fenni (Abergavenny Cymreigyddion Society). The letters are from D. Ellis, London, [the Rev.] J. B. Evans, Cwmyoy, [John Evans] 'Ieuan ab Gruffydd', Y Fenni, J. Williams ['Caledfryn'], Carnarvon, and although written mainly to acknowledge receipt of money they also complement the series contained in NLW MSS 13182-13183E. Printed items include the programme of a concert to be given by Mr. [John] Parry, 'Bardd Alaw', accompanied by Miss Woodham and Mr. Parry, Jun. [i.e. John Orlando Parry], under the patronage of Lady Hall of Llanover, at Abergavenny, 7 September 1838; 'Pennillion i anerch yr Arglwyddes Hall ('Gwenynen Gwent')' by [John Jones] 'Tegid'; proposals, 4 January 1847, for publishing Gardd Eifion, the poetical works of [Robert Williams] Robert ab [sic] Gwilym Ddu...; a copy of J. An album of annotated autographs, photographs and engravings, printed matter, press cuttings, etc., compiled during the years 1858-1881. The volume is almost entirely devoted to persons who were prominent in the literary and musical life of Wales during this period, and it appears from internal evidence to have been well known to the compiler's friends and contemporaries. The autographs are largely in the form of personal entries, recorded mainly at national and other eisteddfodau, but there are also a number of mounted holograph letters, 'cut-out' signatures from holograph letters, and franks. A diary, January 1832 to 21 February 1847, of Robert Williams, perpetual curate of Rhydycroesau, near Oswestry from 1838 to 1879. Robert Williams served as curate of Llangernyw, Denbighshire from 1833 to 1836 and was appointed perpetual curate of Llangadwaladr in 1837. The diary, which is written in Welsh, contains references to events in his home district of Conway as well as to the areas where he served as a cleric. Beginning at the end of the volume there are poems by [John Jones] ('Tegid') (1828); a list of books entitled 'Llyvrau yn Ty Deon', 19 August 1832; accounts with booksellers, stationers, etc., 1832-9; extracts from Aristotle's Rhetoric; and lists of clothes ('Rhestr Dillad'), linen ('Lliain') and carpenter's tools ('Oferynau Saer').

A volume containing holograph poetry, largely in free metre, written during the period 1876-1928 by Richard ap Hugh, Bala. At the beginning of the volume is an alphabetical index of titles ('Cynnwysiad'). Inset is a holograph poem entitled 'Ymweliad y Bardd' by [John Jones] ('Tegid').

A volume made up of about two hundred and ten items of correspondence, 1809-1810 and 1823-1825, nearly all addressed to William Owen Pughe. Some of the letters had been cut out before pagination.
