An alphabetical index by J. H. Davies of first lines of strict metre poetry by mediaeval Welsh bards, together with a similar index of abbreviations of bards' names. The index consists of a transcript of Moses Williams: Repertorium Poeticum (1726), with a large number of additions by J. H. Davies, including the additions in the interleaved copy of the Repertorium Poeticum in NLW MS 717. There are a few notes at the end of the volume, together with some insets, relating largely to the location of Welsh manuscripts. The volume is lettered 'Index. Welsh Poetry'.

Pp. i, 427-433 are in the hand of Moses Williams. A note - 'Pretium £1 . 4 . 6 An. 1715' - on the fly-leaf is in the same hand as most of the manuscript. At the end of the Life of St Margaret, which begins at p. 427, the scribe has written 'Felly y terfyna buchedd saint y Marged a esgrifenodd Tho: Evans 1628 fis Mawrth 5 dydd'.

A manuscript in the hand of Moses Williams containing 'A Chronological Account of the several Editions of the Scripture in Welsh', which included 'a thin Book in Qto, that contained among other things, the Lord's Prayer & the Decalogue', which 'I suppose was done by Sir John Pryse [London, 1567]'. Loose in the manuscript is a letter from 'Rich: Morris to W. Jones'.

A manuscript containing transcripts by David Parry from the Red Book of Hergest, together with other poetry, the volume being compiled before it was given to Jesus College, Oxford in 1701. The contents of the volume are as follows: A Welsh Grammar copied from the Red Book of Hergest (col. 1117), with collations by Samuel Williams from Llanstephan MS 3, p. 472 (original foliation I-Vb, 1-7); a copy of the poetry on cols 1143-1356 of the Red Book of Hergest (original foliation 7-12b, original pagination 13-168, 169-265); followed by sixteen leaves at the end of the manuscript containing poems by Robin Ddu o Fôn, Tudur Aled, Rhys Nanmor and others, together with the pedigree of Sir Rhys ap Thomas.
Samuel Williams has copied a good many of the older material in a modernised orthography on the side left blank by the original copyist. There are also marginalia in the hand of Moses Williams. A note, probably in the hand of Samuel Williams, on p. 265 (original pagination) reads 'All the Poetry collated March 27 . 1722'.

A manuscript containing the laws of Hywel Dda in Welsh. A note in the hand of Moses Williams reads as follows: 'The original MS. (Bibl: Cott: Titus D. IX) whence this was copy'd from was lost in the fire A.D. 1731. So this is the only perfect Copy of this class'.

A manuscript in the hand of Moses Williams containing 'Kelvyddyd kerdd Davod' (ff. 1-5a), being a copy of pp. 10-16 of Llanstephan MS 28, with a note stating that 'This imperfect Tract I transcribed out of a MS. writ by Guttyn Owain A.D. 1455 & communicated to me by D Foulkes of Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd.'; and an extract 'Out of Huw Machno's Book' (ff. 5b-12b) outlining the fifteen faults which may be committed when writing Welsh verse, with examples. The text cites a line from Wiliam Cynwal.

A manuscript volume with the title 'AMRYW' in gold lettering on the spine. Written throughout by William Owen [-Pughe], the manuscript contains transcripts of parts of two older manuscripts, the one in the hand of Lewis Morris [B.M. Add. MS 14908, ff. 36-58], and the other in the hand of Owen Jones, 'Owain Myfyr' [B.M. Add. MS 15020, pp. 1-5, 7-12, 27-8, 33- 5, 44-5, 52-8, 67-70, 93-107, 109-15, 117-23]. The first item in the present manuscript, pp. 1-39, is a transcript of the Statute of Rhuddlan, 'Ystatus Rhuddlan yw hon. A.D. 1283', copied from Lewis Morris's manuscript, which is in turn a copy of a vellum manuscript in the Hengwrt library, which he transcribed in 1738 [i.e. Peniarth MS 41]. Interleaved copies, with manuscript additions by one of the Lloyd family, of two works by Moses Williams: Cofrestr o'r holl lyfrau printjedig ... yn yr Iaith Gymraeg ... (Llundain, 1717) and Repertorium poeticum sive Poematum Wallicorum ... Index Alphabeticus ... (London, 1726).

A composite volume containing series of Welsh proverbs, popular sayings, idiomatic expressions, etc., in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg'). The first series (pp. 5-98), arranged in alphabetical order, is preceded by a 'title-page' (p. 3) inscribed 'Hen Ddiarhebion Cymreig a gasglwyd o hen Lyfrau amrafaelion and yn bennaf o Lyfrau Joseph Jones o Gaer Dydd, Mr. Siams Thomas o'r Maerdy Newydd, y Parchedig Mr. Thomas Evans o Frechfa, Edward Lewys, Esqr., o Ben Llin, Thos. Philip o Dre O's, Esaia Powel o Lansanffraid ar Ogwyr, ag eraill gan Iolo Morganwg', and by notes (p. 4) on the sources of the series, some of the names which appear here differing from those noted in the aforementioned 'title-page'. At the end of the series (p. 98) is the date 'Mehefin y 14, 1800' and a copy of an 'englyn' by [Edward Williams] 'Iolo Morganwg'. A second series (pp. 113-64), again in alphabetical order, was transcribed according to a note on p. 108 dated 10 May 1804) by Edward Williams from a manuscript once in the possession of [the Reverend] Moses Williams, rector of Dyfynog, co. Brecknock, and then in 1804 in the possession of the Earl of Macclesfield who had sent it to London on loan 'mal a'i argreffid ef'. This is the collection of proverbs associated with the name of Gruffudd Hiraethog and the manuscript referred to is probably Llanstephan MS 52 now in the National Library of Wales of which see pp. 85-124. The collection as it appears in the present volume is preceded (pp. 109-12) by versions of the introductory letters to the series written by the said Gruffudd Hiraethog (see Llanstephan MS 52, pp. 81-4). An index to Llanstephan MS 63 in the hand of Moses Williams.

A manuscript divided into three parts containing triads collected by Moses Williams, with Prefaces, etc., prepared for publication. At the beginning of the volume are notes, including directions to the printer, a list of subscribers [1717], etc. There then follows the first part of the manuscript (paginated 1-98) containing a collection of the 'historical' triads, with variant readings from 'B.B. of Carm., R.B. of Hergest, Cwtta Cyfarwydd, Rich: Wynne of Gwydr's MS., Dr. Foulkes's Book', together with two version of transcripts by Moses Williams ready for the printer, with a preface in Latin. The second part of the manuscript (paginated 1-112) contains 'moral' and other triadic sayings. The third part of the manuscript (paginated 1-74) contains 'proverbial triads', followed by a translation into Latin.
The contents of parts two and three of the volume are to be found in the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales.
