Letters from John Parry, Chester, to William Owen ('Gwilym Alaw'); a receipt sent to William Owen, 1812, by Thomas Charles, Bala, for 'the sum of fourteen pounds ten shillings in full for Geiriadur Ysgrythyrol'; 'Cywydd y pren Crin' by Wm. Lloyd ('Alaw Bach'), Plas Llanfair, and sent by him to his uncle, William Owen; miscellanea by or relating to members of the Pughe family; etc.

A diary, 1801-1802, containing an account of sermons heard by Robert Saunderson of Chester (later printer of Bala), at Boughton, Queen Street Chapel, and Handbridge, Chester, on Sundays, 4 January 1801-7 February 1802. Numerous references are made to the Sunday schools at Boughton, the Rossett, Dunham and Ince, and to the preaching of the Rev. Thomas Charles of Bala.

Journal of the Rev. Thomas Prior, 25 August-29 October 1802, mostly describing an excursion to North Wales with his wife A[licia] M[arie] Prior, 27 August-12 October, during which the couple took lodgings at Caernarfon (ff. 1-19 verso).
The Priors sailed from Dublin to Holyhead on 25 August (f. 1), visited Bangor (ff. 1-3 verso), then stayed at Caernarfon, 2 September-12 October, with a number of brief excursions within Caernarvonshire (ff. 3 verso-19 verso). The couple returned to Dublin on 12 October (f. 19 verso) and the latter portion of the journal concerns the resumption of Prior's daily life, 13-29 October (ff. 20-22). The volume includes an anecdote on the painter Robert Bowyer recounted to Prior by Bowyer's brother-in-law (f. 1) and an eyewitness account of the Rev. Thomas Charles preaching, 1 October (f. 15).

Beginning from the end, in later hands, are lists of preachers heard on undated occasions; extracts from addresses or essays of a didactic nature; lists of books; entries of births, etc., 1859-67, of members of the family of Love Hughes Owen; undated particulars of collections at Talysarn [Caernarvonshire]; a memorandum of the foundation of the Building Society at Talysarn, 1865; a pledge by Robert Williams, 1866, to abstain from the chewing and smoking of tobacco ('I ba arferiad y bum yn ddarostyngiedig er yn 6 mlwydd oed'); a catechism ('Holiadau') on Chapter 3 of [Thomas Charles:] Hyfforddwr (Bala, 1807); etc.

(e) The certificate issued to David Edwards of Bala, 17 January 1800, on his subscribing to the oaths denoted in the 'Act for the further relief of Protestant Dissenting Ministers . . .', a draft copy of the proposals for ordaining Calvinistic Methodist ministers [in 1811], and a copy of the questions put to candidates nominated for ordination. The original certificate and the copies of the ordination proposals and questions from which the present transcripts were made are in the aforementioned Bala College Group of documents. An album of annotated autographs, photographs and engravings, printed matter, press cuttings, etc., compiled during the years 1858-1881. The volume is almost entirely devoted to persons who were prominent in the literary and musical life of Wales during this period, and it appears from internal evidence to have been well known to the compiler's friends and contemporaries. The autographs are largely in the form of personal entries, recorded mainly at national and other eisteddfodau, but there are also a number of mounted holograph letters, 'cut-out' signatures from holograph letters, and franks.
