NLW MS 12355F contains two engraved portraits of the Reverend Francis Hiley, Llanwenarth, and at the end of the same manuscript are some additional press cuttings mounted by Lady H. A. Robinson, relating largely to the death of King Edward VII. The outside upper covers are labelled respectively 'Caradawc's Scrap Book No. 1' and 'Caradawc's Scrap Book No. 2'.

Miscellaneous material relating to eisteddfodau, including an 'englyn' to 'Carnhuanawc' (Thomas Price), a prize poem by 'Talhaiarn' (John Jones) entitled 'Sali Smith', extracts from speeches at Carmarthen eisteddfod, 1823, and Cardiff eisteddfod, 1834, and adjudications by Stephens on essays submitted at eisteddfodau held at Aberafan and Aberdare.

Also included among the letters is a printed song - 'The Welcome Home, sung by the children of the Rhos-y-Medre and Rhosllanerchrugog National Schools on the occasion of the birth of an heiress to the noble House of Wynnstay', 1865.

A. Môn'; Baptist activities in America and Australia; the Baptist cause at Caerleon and in Monmouthshire generally; a proposal to safeguard 'Carnhuanawc's library; and the Vronissa Lead Mine, Ruthin. One of four volumes comprising three hundred and sixty-four autograph letters and copies and drafts of letters of the period 1787-1930. The two main groups among them are those addressed to 'Nefydd' and Daniel Jones, but there are also two very much smaller groups of letters to Benjamin Jones ('P. A. Môn') and Benjamin Thomas, Baptist minister at Culmstock, Devon, and nephew of Joshua Thomas, Leominster. They are generally of personal, religious, or Baptist interest, although a number of letters addressed to 'Nefydd ' relate also to his educational activities. -- Among the subjects discussed in MSS 7163-6 are British Schools at Penmorfa, Llandygwydd, Devynnock, Llandilo, Abertillery, Llantrisant, Cwmdare, and Five Roads, Llanelly, and appeals for financial assistance for the Baptist churches at Caernarvon, Tenby, Cwmsarnddu, Llanfyllin, and Stanhope Street, Liverpool. Letters from America are chiefly of a denominational character. David Thomas, Llwyn, discusses the reaction in Carmarthenshire to the French Revolution and refers to meetings held at Carmarthen and Llandovery to pledge loyalty to the Government and to burn an effigy of Tom Paine. Flint], for bardic meetings; printed proposals for publishing Edward Williams's two volumes of English verse Poems Lyric and Pastoral in 1792; a ? holograph note from Mr. Dunn from St. Athans, to Mr. [Edward] Williams re the erection of a monument (in third person); a printed leaflet advertising 'New Music written and composed by John Parry' which was for sale; a printed leaflet advertising the sale by auction at Newton Nottage, Glamorganshire, September 1813, of the 'materials of the sloop Friends'; a ? holograph letter from J[ohn] Hughes from Brecon, to Mr. Edwd. Williams, Merthyr Tydfil [circa 1822], relating to the writer's Essay [?Essay on the Ancient and Present State of the Welsh Language, 1822] being prepared for publication (the letter is endorsed with a note in the hand of Edward Williams stating that 'Mr. Job James the Printer of this work' was unable to complete the printing of the said work as soon as had been hoped owing to certain difficulties including the fact that his office' was not furnished with some types and characters that were found necessary' and that 'the ordering and waiting for them' had caused delay; this note does not refer to John Hughes's Essay but, in all probability, to Edward Williams's own work Cyfrinach Beirdd Ynys Prydain, publication of which was held up for the reasons specified in the note ('o eisiau digon o lythyrennau argraph'; see the introduction to the work)); a ? holograph, undated note from B.
