Sior y trydydd. gan Owen Williams (Caernarfon, 1820), cuttings from newspapers and periodicals of items by Owen Williams in prose and verse, obituary notices and articles concerning him, and a few items in the hand of 'Myrddin Fardd' e.g. 'Achau Owen Williams Waunfawr [O'i lawysgrif ef ei hun].'

Holograph poetical compositions, including drafts, by William Morgan Williams ('Fferyllfardd'; 1832-77), among them 'Hiraeth y Bardd am Gymru' ('Y Llyfr Cyntaf' and 'Yr Ail Lyfr'), 'Awdl Gynghaneddol', an 'awdl' on 'Anian yn ei Phrydferthwch yn Datgan Gogoniant Duw', a Welsh translation of ['Safe in the arms of Jesus'], and 'englynion', etc. on various subjects. One notebook contains early items, 1848-50, by 'Fferyllfardd', together with items by W. Williams, Pwllheli [(?) 'Gwilym Heli', father of W. M. Williams ('Fferyllfardd')], including a transcript of 'Anerchiad at Dafydd Owain or Gaerwen neu Dewi Wynn of Eifion Pan yn byw yn Mhwllheli yn y flwyddyn 1826'. There are also a few press cuttings and a draft of a presidential address. The wrapping paper bears the words 'Gweithiau Fferyll-fardd. I'w Hadolygu - Gan Myrddin Fardd.'

A folder containing eight files of original letters and copies of letters and poetry from the eighteenth to the twentieth century. Files 1-3: Transcripts of letters by Lewis and Richard Morris, mainly to Evan Evans ('Ieuan Fardd') and Dafydd Jones of Trefriw, almost all published in Hugh Owen (ed.), Additional Letters of the Morrises of Anglesey (1735-1786), Y Cymmrodor, Vol. XLIX, 1947-9, the remainder published in G. J. Williams (gol.) Llythyrau at Ddafydd Jones o Drefriw. Cylchgrawn Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru. Atodiad. Cyfres III, Rhif 2 (1942), and J. H. Davies (ed.), The Letters of Lewis, Richard, William and John Morris of Anglesey (Morrisiaid Mon) (Aberystwyth, 1907-9). The original letters or copies from which these copies were transcribed are in the British Museum (Add MSS 14929, 15021, 15024, 15029) and the National Library of Wales (mainly Panton 74 and NLW MS 476). There is also a transcript of a letter from the Reverend Thomas Ellis, Holyhead to the Reverend Humphrey Owen and the Reverend J. Hoare, 1742 (the original letter is preserved in NLW MS 478), and a copy of Evan Evans's elegy to Lewis Morris, with notes on the text. File 4: Transcripts of letters from Edward Richard, Ystrad Meurig, c. 1759-1766, to Evan Evans ('Ieuan Fardd'). There are also copies of two short letters to Evan Evans from Roderick Lewis, Trefeglwys, and William Howell, Llanidloes, which were written on the same sheet as Edward Richard's letter of 1 March 1766. The original letters are preserved in NLW MS Panton 74. A transcript of a letter from Edward Richard, 1766, to Richard Morris (from BM Add MS 15025), and extracts from letters from Edward Richard to Lewis Morris, 1759 and undated (from BM Add MS 15029). A holograph letter from Edward Richard, Ystradmeuryg, 1762, to Lewis Morris, Penbryn (published in Hugh Owen, op. cit. Part II, pp. 562-3). File 5: A holograph letter from [the Reverend] W[illiam] Davies, Llanwryn [Montgomeryshire], 1710, to Henry Newman at the Reverend Mr Shute's in Bartlet's Buildings, London (receipt of letter and a packet from the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, subscriptions from other parishes, has partly prevailed with a certain minister to become a corresponding member). The letter bears the number 2381 (see Mary Clement (ed.), Correspondence and minutes of the S.P.C.K. relating to Wales 1699-1740 (Cardiff, 1952), p. 35. Abstract No. 2381). The letters are addressed to John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'), Pwllheli (4), 1791-1806 (corrections to addressee's poetry, tributes to writer's brother, Humphrey, after his death, some short poetical compositions by the writer), to Griffith Williams ('Gutyn Peris'), Llandygai (8), 1799-1819, (poetry, subjects upon which writer desired addressee to compose hymns, meetings of bards and eisteddfodau, comments and news of contemporary poets, writer's health and work), and one letter, addressee not named, 1804, (addressee's poetry which writer had received, desires addressee to render 2 Samuel XXII in strict metres and to ask other poets to do the same). The poetry includes verses entitled 'Y Cynauaf mawr diweddaf' subscribed 'D. T. a'i cant allan o'r Saesneg ar ddymuniad John Jones Llandwrog Medi 10d 1804 (cf. On one of the fly-leaves is an imperfect list of correspondents in the hand of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), with additions in the hand of J. H. Davies.

A notebook labelled 'Mannoethwy' containing a few miscellaneous press cuttings followed by material relating to Owen Jones ('Manoethwy'; 1838-66), brother of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), including a biographical account described as being 'Allan O'r Geiriadur Bywgraffyddol, gan y Parch. O[wen] J[ones] Llandudno' and 'englynion' by Ellis Owen, Cefnymeusydd and J. H. Griffith, Gorseddau, ger Tremadog (press cutting). The hand is probably that of 'Myrddin Fardd'.

Two notebooks, bound as one, containing transcripts by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of 'cywyddau', etc. by Robin Ddu and of 'Cywydd Marwnad Robin Ddu' by Ieuan Môn. There are also some press cuttings containing material relating to both Robin Ddu and Robert Parry ('Robin Ddu Eryri'). Loose papers consist of a note on [John Mortimer (d. 1736)] and an envelope addressed to 'Myrddin Fardd, At:- Mrs. Prices, The Fairs, St. Michael's Hamlet, Liverpool' containing a note on Ellias Morys, Llwyndyrys and William Elias the poet headed 'Mrs. Pierce, The Friars, St. Michael's Hamlet, Liverpool', with an 'englyn' by Owain Lleyn on the reverse side (in pencil).

Other items are a note on John (Siôn) Cain Jones ('Siôn Ceiriog') and press cuttings, etc. concerning the Reverend John Owen (Ty'n llwyn) Penyberth (1808-76), also referred to as John Owen y Gwyndy.

An exercise-book marked on the first page 'Copy No. 16' containing transcripts probably by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of poetry by Evan Pritchard ('Ieuan Lleyn'; 1769-1832), with one or two items by John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'), W[illia]m T[h]omas [?1790-1861] and William Williams. The final item ('Cywydd St. Cowrda' by [Hywel Rheinallt]) has no name appended to it and is incomplete. The poems appear to have been transcribed in separate sections and put together later.

A notebook designated 'Copy No. 2' containing brief accounts of Nefyn and Tre'r Ceiri, with notes on Capel Odo, Bettws, Cappel [sic] Angelog, Eglwys Fair and Capel Ergan, etc. At the reverse end is a record of the sermon texts of various preachers at Tremadog chapel, 1809-37 ('Coflyfr o'r Testynau yn Nghapel Tremadog' - the exact dates are not given, only the year), followed by items of poetry including 'Awdl ar Brydferthwch' by [John Edwards] 'Eos Glan Twrch' and 'Awdl ar ddyfodiad teulu Tudur i Orsedd Prydain' by 'Owain Cyfeiliog, Bryn yr Awen, Gorphenaf 15, 1821'. The hand is probably that of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') throughout.

A composite notebook labelled 'Gwaith Wiliam Elias, &c.' containing transcripts by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of 'englynion', 'cywyddau', etc. largely by or relating to William Elias (1708-87) [Plas-y-glyn, Llanfwrog, Anglesey]. The poets represented in addition to William Elias are D(afydd) Parry, Michael Prichard, J. R. ('Englynion i annerch Owen Gruffydd', etc.), Ed. Morus, Owen Gruffydd and Thomas Edwards ('Cywydd Marwnad i'r Canmoladwy a'r Anrhydeddus ddiweddar William Elias'). There is also a note on Peniarth MS 201 ('Allan o Ysgriflyfr Peniarth [i.e. Hengwrt]. -Rhif 188'). Loose papers comprise a copy of the gravestone inscription of William Elias and his wife, 'Cerdd i Ddiolch i Fachgen o Landwrog am Fenthyg Llyfr Notes', together with some 'englynion' (in pencil), and a leaf from Eurgrawn Mon, 1825, pp. 14[7]-8 (see The Letters of Goronwy Owen, ed. J. H. Davies (Cardiff, 1924), pp. 203-4). Another loose item, a folio from an eighteenth century manuscript, has been restored to its place at the beginning of Wynnstay MS 7.
