A volume lettered 'Hanesion Llyn ac Eifionydd', being a collection compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of literary, historical and antiquarian material relating mainly to South Caernarvonshire. A volume consisting of a notebook which belonged originally to Robert Roberts, Ty mawr, Treflys [Caernarvonshire], 1775, containing mensuration tables, etc. and miscellaneous accounts, c. 1790-1815, mainly in Welsh, by Robert Roberts and one or more of his brothers. Over some of the pages and on additional leaves inserted at the beginning have been pasted cuttings of 'englynion' and other compositions mainly by Richard Roberts ('Bardd Treflys'; 1818-76); there are also some holograph items by Richard Roberts and transcripts by Ellis Owen, Cefn-y-meysydd and by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). The contents include 'Cywydd am fenthig Lanter Mawrth 20 1844' and 'Cân y Palm oil', both by Richard Roberts ('Bardd Treflys').

A composite volume containing poetical compositions by Hugh Evans ('Hugh Eryri') [or 'Hywel Eryri': cf. Cwrt-mawr MS 466B], some dated 1826-8 (26 pp., repaired, incomplete); transcripts in various hands of poetry by [Thomas Williams] 'Twm Pedrog' (torn) and of a cywydd by Dafydd Nanmor; 'Duhuddiant i Eben Fardd a'i deulu ar farwolaeth ei eneth ieuangaf - Elizabeth, Medi - 1858' by [Robert Hughes] 'Robyn Wyn' (?holograph); transcripts of poetical compositions by [Evan Pritchard] 'Ieuan Llyn' or 'Ieuan ap Rhisiart'; part of an exercise-book bearing the names of R. Prys Morris, Dolgelley and Myrddin Fardd, Chwilog; and fragments including pedigrees of Bod Ilan (Llanvihangel y Pennant), Y Plas yngheiswyn (Talyllyn), Ynys y Maengwyn ynhowyn Meirionydd and Pughe of Mathafarn, taken from Lewis Dwnn.

Two notebooks in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing transcripts of 'cywyddau', etc. by the following poets: Wiliam Llyn, Huw Llyn, Morys Dwyfech, Lewis Daron, Sion Wyn Owain, Kadwaladr Kesel, Huw Machno, Edmwnd Prys, Sion Philipp, Gruffydd Phylips, Huw Pennant, Lewis Menai, Wiliam Kynwal, Rissiart Philip, Richard Kynwal, Rhus Kain, Howel Reinallt, Sion Brwynog, Watkin Klewedog, Morgan ap Huw Lewis, Inco Brydydd, Dafydd Na[n]mor, Gruffudd Grug, Iolo Goch, Owain Waed da and Llywelyn Goch ap Meurig hên. Nearly all the poems are eulogies of, or elegies on , persons from Llŷn and Eifionydd. On the first page of MS 507 is the following note by J. H. Davies: 'Codwyd o lawysgrif Mr J. Glyn Davies ? Gan Myrddin Fardd' and it seems probable that the contents of MS 507 and the first ten items in MS 508 were transcribed from J. Glyn Davies MS 2 (though not in the same order), perhaps with a view to publication. The remaining poems appear to have been transcribed from various sources, including Cwrtmawr MS 454. Pasted in after the poems in MS 508 are two newspaper cuttings relating to 'Phylipiaid Ardudwy'.

A volume written largely in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas, ('Eben Fardd') and described on the title-page as 'Llyvyr y Llwythau Cymreig yn cynwys Taflenau Achol o'r Pum Llwyth Breninol a Phymtheg Llwyth Gwynedd ynghyd a Byrdraith hanesiol am Sylfaenwyr yr amrywiol Lwythau a Gwroniaid Cymreig eraill Eu Preswylfeydd, Tiriogaethau, Paisarfau a Disgynyddion. Casgledig gan Ebenezer Thomas, Clynnog, Hâf 1843.' At the beginning of the volume are 'A Map of North Wales' [Anglesey and West Caernarvonshire] and a list of the contents to p. 69. More than half of the volume is blank but the written pages after p. 69 contain, among other things, details of 'Villas [Vills] in Eifionydd' ('Abridged from a letter of the Rev. J. Jones Llanllyfni to Ellis Owen Esq. Cefny meusydd'), pedigrees of Rhwngyddwyryd (Dolbenmaen), Rhiw and Bodfel (Llŷn), and Cefn Coch in Anglesey, etc., 'Carol Nadolig, 1859 - ar "Diolch i Ti yr Hollalluog Dduw &c"' by E. Thos ('Eben Fardd'), a petition (draft), undated, from Jane Jones of Penarfynydd in the parish of Abererch, Caernarvonshire to the bishop of Bangor and the other trustees of the Llandwrog Almshouses, particulars of the ancestry of Tho[ma]s E. Roberts, Hendre, Abereirch sent by him to Eben Fardd, 24 July 1861, and a printed prospectus, undated, of 'The Works of the Bards of Llyn and Eifionydd, collected by Myrddin Fardd'. Loose between pp. 27 and 28 are notes by J. Jones, Llanllyfni, May 1844, headed 'A. D. 1352. Hanes ardrethol Cwmmwd Isgorfai', and pasted on to these or vice versa is a printed sheet concerning Gwydir Chapel, Llanrwst (J. Jones, Printer, Llanrwst). Facing the title-page of the volume is a label bearing the words 'Llyfr Achau ac Arfbeisiau y 5 Llwyth Breninol a 15 Llwyth Pendefigol Gwynedd ynghyd au Disgynyddion, &c.' and above it John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') has written 'Costiodd y Llyfr yma i mi ddwy bunt heblaw talu am ei rwymo wedi hyny.'

A composite notebook labelled 'Gwaith Wiliam Elias, &c.' containing transcripts by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of 'englynion', 'cywyddau', etc. largely by or relating to William Elias (1708-87) [Plas-y-glyn, Llanfwrog, Anglesey]. The poets represented in addition to William Elias are D(afydd) Parry, Michael Prichard, J. R. ('Englynion i annerch Owen Gruffydd', etc.), Ed. Morus, Owen Gruffydd and Thomas Edwards ('Cywydd Marwnad i'r Canmoladwy a'r Anrhydeddus ddiweddar William Elias'). There is also a note on Peniarth MS 201 ('Allan o Ysgriflyfr Peniarth [i.e. Hengwrt]. -Rhif 188'). Loose papers comprise a copy of the gravestone inscription of William Elias and his wife, 'Cerdd i Ddiolch i Fachgen o Landwrog am Fenthyg Llyfr Notes', together with some 'englynion' (in pencil), and a leaf from Eurgrawn Mon, 1825, pp. 14[7]-8 (see The Letters of Goronwy Owen, ed. J. H. Davies (Cardiff, 1924), pp. 203-4). Another loose item, a folio from an eighteenth century manuscript, has been restored to its place at the beginning of Wynnstay MS 7.

A notebook bearing the number '1' containing transcripts by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') and some press cuttings of poetry by Sion Roger 'o Raianog yn mhlwyf Clynnog', Michael Prichard, Llanllyfni, Morus ab Ifan ab Einion o Leyn, Owen Davies ('Bardd Llechog'), Huw Lleyn, [David Thomas] 'Dafydd Ddu Eryri', John Thomas (S[iôn Wyn o] Eifion), Peter Jones ('Pedr Fardd'), [John Roberts] 'Sion Lleyn', Lewis Morys (beginning wanting), Richard [Davies] Esgob Dewi, Syr Roger y Ffeiriad (Roger Cyffin), Syr Rhys Cadwaladr, Sr Dafydd Trefor, Cadwaladr Cesail, Gruffydd ap Tudyr ap Howel o Fôn, Huw Machno, J. Jones (Pyll) Llanrwst, Gutto'r Glyn, Wm Williams, Ty'n y Nant, Maentwrog ('Englynion i Fron Mair', 1817), Edm[wnd] Prys, H. Roberts (Syr Huw Roberts lên), Gruffydd Hiraethog (extract), George Twissleton, Lleyar, Gruffydd Phylip and Richard Jones, Caerau, yn Lleyn (see Y Traethodydd, 1892, p. 463, Rhif 672). One press cutting contains 'Cywydd - Marwnad y Parchedig Mr Sionach Risiard Curat Llann Engan, Lleyn, 1783' by an unnamed poet. Other items are a note on John (Siôn) Cain Jones ('Siôn Ceiriog') and press cuttings, etc. concerning the Reverend John Owen (Ty'n llwyn) Penyberth (1808-76), also referred to as John Owen y Gwyndy.

Two notebooks, bound as one, containing transcripts by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of 'cywyddau', etc. by Robin Ddu and of 'Cywydd Marwnad Robin Ddu' by Ieuan Môn. There are also some press cuttings containing material relating to both Robin Ddu and Robert Parry ('Robin Ddu Eryri'). Loose papers consist of a note on [John Mortimer (d. 1736)] and an envelope addressed to 'Myrddin Fardd, At:- Mrs. Prices, The Fairs, St. Michael's Hamlet, Liverpool' containing a note on Ellias Morys, Llwyndyrys and William Elias the poet headed 'Mrs. Pierce, The Friars, St. Michael's Hamlet, Liverpool', with an 'englyn' by Owain Lleyn on the reverse side (in pencil).

A notebook labelled 'Mannoethwy' containing a few miscellaneous press cuttings followed by material relating to Owen Jones ('Manoethwy'; 1838-66), brother of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), including a biographical account described as being 'Allan O'r Geiriadur Bywgraffyddol, gan y Parch. O[wen] J[ones] Llandudno' and 'englynion' by Ellis Owen, Cefnymeusydd and J. H. Griffith, Gorseddau, ger Tremadog (press cutting). The hand is probably that of 'Myrddin Fardd'.

A composite volume belonging to John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing notes and press cuttings concerning heraldry, etc. At the beginning in another hand are accounts of 'Gibbet Hill' [Llanfair Caereinion] subscribed 'Mrs B- December 12. 59', 'Sion y Clochydd' and 'Bryn Llawenydd'. The press cuttings include a series of articles on 'Pymtheg Llwyth Gwynedd' by [the Reverend Hugh Parry] 'Cefni'. There are one or two loose items, including a sheet in an eighteenth century hand containing 'Naw gradd Carrennydd' and two 'englynion', etc., 'Awgrym fûd' (a deaf and dumb alphabet), and 'Llyma y pum achos sydd i gadw acha[u].'

A scrap-book belonging to John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing notes and press cuttings relating to churches and parishes, etc. in Llŷn and Eifionydd, Caernarvonshire, with a few references to places outside that area, e.g. Abergwili, Carmarthenshire and Brongwyn, Cardiganshire. At the reverse end are copies of memorial inscriptions, a note on 'Ffordd Maughan', transcripts of two letters, 1860, from [Ebenezer Thomas], 'Eben Vardd', Clynnog to Mr John Roberts [?Sion Lleyn], and brief notes on mansions in Llŷn and Eifionydd, etc. Letter (?) 'I' on spine.

A notebook largely in the hand of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing biographical data (Sion Robert Lewis, nat 1731; John Evans, bishop of Bangor; John Elias 'o Fon', etc.), memorial inscriptions and details of the writer's holdings of Golud yr Oes.
