Autograph letters to 'Myrddin Fardd' from Edward Owen, Tycoch (1883), Daniel Rowlands (1883, 1886), John Williams ('Ioan Mai') (1884, 1886), Robert Hughes (Llangybi), Robert Jones, Bethesda (1877), 'Gurnos', Bridgend (1883), D. A notebook containing 'englynion', 'cywyddau', etc. by (?) E. Anwyl, Ed. Moris, Rys Cain, Dafydd ab Gwilym, Dafydd Nanmor, Lewys Trefnant, Huw Machno, Edward Urien, Edm : Prys, Roger Cyffin, Huw Arwystl, Morys Berwyn, Ow. Gwynedd, Sr. Owain ab Gwilym, Ifan Llwyd o waun Eingian, Howel Cilan, Mathew Browmffield, Siams Dwnn, 1605, Ifan Tew, Sion Phylip, Rissiart Phylip, Robert Humphreys [1707] (in a different hand) and John Byrchinsha [1707] (in free metre), followed by a list of contents written in a later hand. At the reverse end is the beginning of a Welsh translation of A Practical Discourse concerning a future judgment by William Sherlock, D.D. [pp. 1-11] ('Traethod bucheddol am y farn a fydd (sy' i ddyfod) o waith Wm. Sherloc y D.D.'), followed by englynion by Ed. Morys and Siôn Rhissiart, etc. and a note in pencil by St. G. A[rmstrong] W[illiams], July 8 1886: 'Cannot find a name for this note book, so as to identify it on the Catalogue'. In the list of Cwrtmawr manuscripts it is described as 'Llyfr W. Rowlands, 1700'. J. H. Davies has added in pencil: 'W Rowland see R. Ellis article on Lhwyd' [i.e. Trans. Cymm., 1906-7, pp. 26-8].

A small volume, originally with clasps, containing 'cywyddau', 'englynion', etc. by Evan ab Evan (lines from Anacreon), Taliesin, Dafydd ap Edmwnt, John Philipp, Richard Philip, Dafydd ap Gwilim, Tudur Aled, John Dafies (Dafis), Owen Gwynedd, W(illiam) Llyn, Sion Brwnog (Brwynog), Dafydd Trefor, Dafydd Llwyd ap Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, Iolo Goch, Thomas Prys o Blas Iolyn Esgwier, Hugh Llwyd Cynfal, Doctor (Sion) Cent, Tudur Penllyn, Edward M[orus], Sr. Morgan, Rowland Vaughan, Hugh ap Ev. ap Ro[ ] and Wmphre David. The contents appear to have been transcribed after 1744 from a manuscript annotated by Lewis Morris, and a note on p. 100 suggests a connection with BM Additional MS 14866, although none of the poems are to be found in that volume. There are a number of quotations in the margins and elsewhere from Pope, Homer, Dryden, etc. At the beginning, in a later hand, are an 'englyn' by Siencyn Thomas Morgan and an 'englyn' which is described as being on the tombstone of the Reverend Alban Thomas of Blaen y Porth, Cardiganshire. A note in pencil on the limp boards which were originally inside the vellum cover reads 'Gwaith hen Feirdd MS from Rev. Armstrong Williams'.

A volume containing holograph manuscripts and letters of Richard Robert Jones ('Dic Aberdaron', 1780-1843) comprising portions of an autobiography and notes and letters containing much autobiographical material. Most of the letters, 1837-43, are written from poor lodging houses in Liverpool (many addresses, such as Chisenhale Street, located mainly in the Vauxhall Road area). They describe his misfortunes and deplorable living conditions and also his dreams. There are several references to his Welsh, Greek and Hebrew dictionary and attempts to get it published. A few of the letters, 1840 and 1841, are written from Caernarvon (to Mr Evan Griffith, a sailor, Waterloo Street). There is one letter, 1841, containing drawings and abuse addressed to Richard Robert Jones, Rose Court, No. 1 Chisenall [sic] Street, Liverpool. The other manuscripts include a short work entitled 'The ancient order of harps described according to Greek rules taken from Claudius Ptolemaius ... compared with the old harps of Great Britain by Richard Robert Jones ... of Aberdaron ... 1820', containing a drawing of a harp with descriptive notes in Greek, the text which describes the arrangement of various harps is also in Greek. The manuscript bears a note in pencil 'Presented to me by the writer R. J. at Llwynybrain 1827 St Geo A[rmstrong] W[illiams]'. There is another copy of the text and a similar description of the harp in note form, also in Greek, and a single sheet with a similar drawing of the harp and parallel texts in Latin and Greek of Luke X, 5-11, and an extract from Rabbinic teaching in English and Hebrew. The single sheet bears the note 'Richard Jones (Dic Aberdaron) 1820 - Given to me by Dic himself in the year 1827 St Geo A[rmstrong] Wms'. The other manuscripts consist of short notes, transcripts and translations, mainly in Latin, Greek, English and Hebrew, relating to the Greek and French calendar, 'Zoroastres the Prince of the Magi', the herb Hyoscyamus and its medical attributes, partly extracted from the works of Galen and Pliny, and an extract from [ ] Guerre de l'Amerique, Livre 3, pp. 27-8, relating to the Tories (Loyalists) (French, with an English translation), etc. There is a list, which includes most of the manuscripts, compiled by J. Glyn Davies, 19 November 1892, on which is written the following note by J. H. Davies: 'This list was drawn up by J. Glyn Davies when the MSS belonged to Mr. T. G. Williams I bought them from Mr. Williams & have added a few myself'. There are also letters (3) from Professor T. Witton Davies, 1915, to J. H. Davies, which refer to the manuscripts of 'Dic Aberdaron' and to a volume (Cwrtmawr 50(ii)) of press-cuttings relating to him which had been lent to the writer by J. H. Davies.

(I and ii). An interleaved copy in two volumes of The English Works of the late Rev. Eliezer Williams with a memoir of his life by his son St George Armstrong Williams (London, 1840), with corrections and annotations by the Reverend St George Armstrong Williams. (Iii). (A) Letters addressed to the Reverend Eliezer Williams (1754-1820), vicar of Lampeter (1805-20), from St G[eorge] Armstrong, Whitehaven, 1803 (personal finances, expectations of war, intends applying for a company in the Leitrim Militia), [Susan] Lady Blandford, undated (gift of books for addressee), Charles Bowdler, Lampeter, undated (invites Evans ('Ieuan Brydydd Hir'), Aberystwyth, 1778 (the publication of writer's sermons and the addressee's subscription, writer's distrust of Evan James, hopes addressee and Richard Thomas will transcribe 'the Damhegion from the Llyfr Coch' for him, Sir Watkin [Williams Wynn]'s generosity, intends 'to print the Adagia Britannica and the Triades with Mr Vaughan of Hengwrt's notes in two volumes', hopes addressee, Mr Rice Jones and Mr Richard Thomas will help to obtain subscribers (published in D. Silvan Evans (ed.) Gwaith y Parchedig Evan Evans (Caernarvon, 1876), pp. 243-4)), H. Eliezer Williams, it had revived his desire to become acquainted with the Welsh language and literature, intends applying himself to the subject as soon as his present work was finished, requests addressee to take charge of his subscription of a sovereign, his high opinion of the work). A mutilated volume entitled 'Liber Miscellanorum' containing quotations, extracts, and transcripts of poetry and prose from printed sources, e.g. [Edward] Young: A Paraphrase on part of the Book of Job; 'Milt. Lib. III. Ver. I', being a translation into Latin verse by 'Mr. Dobson' of John Milton: Paradise Lost, ll. 1-55; verses 'Translated From the French By the Rev'd Moses Browne, Vicar of Olney'; 'Fas est et ab hoste doceri' and other extracts in the hand of Eliezer Williams (1754-1820), Vicar of Lampeter, etc.; 'Orsabrin and Meginella from Sir John Suckling's Goblins, Act. 3'; 'Epilogue to the New Tragedy of Semiramis by Sheridan'; a letter in the hand of St George Armstrong Williams (condolence, comments on the Tractarians and on a proposal for church unity); etc.

A volume of transcripts by St George Armstrong Williams of letters by 'Myrddin' [i.e. the Reverend Eliezer Williams] in Seren Gomer, 21-28 May, 11, 25 June, and 6-27 August 1814, 'Cywydd y Winwydden' by 'E. Llanbedr. Chwef. 1815', of 'Pennillion ar ddechreuad Sosiniaeth yn Lloegr. 1790' [translated by] 'E. W.' (printed in Peter Williams: Tafol Gywir I Bwyso Sosiniaeth ... (Caerfyrddin, 1792), pp. 47-8), 'An Epitaph upon an Astronomer' ('Rhyfeddol mewn rhifyddiaeth ...'), and 'On the Harp new tuned' ('Eos wanwyn yn seinio ...').

Two volumes of epigrams, epitaphs and other verses collected and transcribed from the papers of the Reverend Eliezer Williams by his son St George Armstrong Williams in 1836. They include translations from Horace and among the other titles are 'A Tribute of Gratitude from the Peasantry of Ayron's Vale to their Landlord for conscientiously lowering their rents', 'The Sceptic', 'Ancient & Modern authors', 'The Topers', 'Spendthrifts' 'Celia (imitated from Martial)', 'Laura', 'Stale jests against matrimony', 'The National Debt', 'On a Drunkard', 'Translator', 'On a little Fellow (from the Greek)', 'On a noted Liar', 'Occassioned by some illiberal reflections thrown on Dr Johnson's memory', 'The Miser', 'Gluttony', 'On Lieut. Price's defence of th Islands of Marçon', 'On a late proposition to Great Britain of an Armistice by sea', 'On the capture of the 'Guillaume Tell'', 'On Lieut. Burke's cutting out several armed Vessels from French and Spanish Harbours', 'On a sailor who refused to give his money to a Highwayman that stopped the Dover Stage Coach', 'On a sailor who took an Ass to the Play house at Sheerness', etc. MS 61, which is mutilated, also contains an 'Extract of a Letter from Lampeter, dated 21 Decr. 1816' describing a trial at the Town Hall, Lampeter, of 'several young gentlemen of the Seminary at that place' on the charge of maltreating and murdering 'several of the offspring of one Terence'.
